<a name="more"></a>Chris Christie, who once told a heckler to &#8220;sit down and shut up,&#8221; found himself doing essentially that on Monday as he simpered and tried to normalize the <a href="http://konnie-moments.blogspot.com/2016/03/donald-trump-riding-tiger-of-political.html" target="_blank">campaign style introduced</a> by real estate mogul Donald Trump, during a rally in North Carolina.<br />
&#8216;A starry-eyed Christie, once a serious contender for the presidency, fawned over the GOP front-runner and his candidacy while he basically delivered a standard stump speech. &#8220;I know you have serious plans on how to rebuild our military &#8230; they want to hear what kind of commander-in-chief you’ll be.&#8221;<br />
&#8220;I’ve heard you say many times before, as commander-in-chief &#8230; you’ll have the backs of fighting men and women. &#8230;&#8221;<br />
“I’d love to hear you talk about &#8230; what kind of father you’ve been.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>And then there was this gem:</p>
<blockquote><p>“You’re seen as one of the greatest capitalists in American history. &#8230;&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>&#8230; Meanwhile Chris Christie continued interviewing Trump onstage at the rally as the protests continued at the venue. All told, six people were arrested outside the rally, according to Hickory police. Onstage, Trump shrugged off incidents of violence at his rallies, saying, &#8220;There&#8217;s no violence.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;How many people have been hurt at our rallies? I think, like basically none, other than I guess maybe somebody got hit once or something. But there&#8217;s no violence,&#8221; he said, apparently referring to a rally in Fayetteville, North Carolina, during which an attendee allegedly punched a protester and was later arrested.</p>
<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s no violence, none whatsoever,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It&#8217;s a lovefest.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump said he understands why voters are so angry &#8211; pointing to failed trade deals, mistreatment of veterans, and poor educations standards.</p>
<p>Trump said he plans to repeal and replace Obamacare &#8211; calling it a failure.</p>
<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re going to make changes. We&#8217;re going to make America great again,&#8221; said Trump. &#8220;We&#8217;re going to be respected again as a country. We&#8217;re not respected at all.&#8221;</p>
<p>North Carolina&#8217;s primary elections are Tuesday. Trump encouraged people to go vote. Trump has a lead in pledged delegates ahead of this summer&#8217;s Republican National Convention.<br />
Meanwhile, in New Jersey, Christie&#8217;s deputy was tasked with attending the funeral of a New Jersey state trooper who was <a href="http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2016/03/christie_skips_third_nj_police_funeral_for_trump_e.html" target="_blank">killed in the line of duty last week</a>.</p>
