A man accused of being a ‘bigamist’ after he was seen on Saturday Night Takeaway with another woman has been reported to police by his ex – while his new wife has denied claims she has dumped him.
Daniel Gundry found himself in the middle of a social media storm when wife Helen took to the programme’s Facebook page after she saw him on the show. She claimed he was cheating on her with an ex-girlfriend after first telling her he was on a business trip to Dubai. Mr Grundy appeared on the arm of Sue Brooker on the Ant and Dec show which was featuring a surprise televised wedding ceremony.

He had told ITV bosses he split up from his wife of 17 years Mrs Gundry, 51, six years ago and married new wife Sue two years ago in a wedding in the Seychelles.
But Mrs Grundy said at the time that while she and her husband had previously separated they never divorced and ‘got back together’ last summer, adding that ‘any other marriage is bigamous’.
Now she has reported Mr Gundry to police for alleged bigamy and the Cheshire force said in a statement: ‘We are investigating reports of bigamy. Enquiries are ongoing.’ It comes as a Twitter account appearing to belong to Ms Brooker denied claims reported in the Sunday Mirror that she and Mr Gundry had split.
Alongside a picture apparently showing the pair smiling, the tweet said: ‘Beautiful evening spent with my wonderful husband! This man is #myrock! Love u #dangundry.’
Mrs Gundry told the newspaper how she, her son 25-year-old son Alex, 25, and 15-year-old daughter tuned in to watch Saturday Night Takeaway only to see her husband with another woman.
After the show, she took to the ITV1 show’s social media website and wrote: ‘I loved the wedding and the surprised guests – I didn’t love the sight of my husband who’s supposed to be working in Dubai (first off the coach Daniel Gundry) arriving on the arm of another woman, a woman he’s supposed to have split from last year. We have a 15-year-old daughter who’s in absolute bits.’

A spokesman for ITV said at the time: ‘I have spoken to Daniel and he has actually been married to his current wife for two years and separated from Helen for six.’ Mrs Gundry insists a divorce never went through – and that although they were separated until a year ago he ‘convinced me to get back together’ and that she was preparing to move out to Dubai with their daughter, Daisy.
She said she had seen pictures last year of him with Ms Brooker during their Seychelles wedding – but that he had convinced her it was ‘just a blessing’ and that they had to give the appearance of being married to live in Dubai.
But Ms Brooker’s father told the Sunday Mirror’s Vikki White that the pair were ‘officially and properly married and have been for about two years’.
Helen Gundry said that she still loved Daniel but that she would ‘never forgive him’ and has vowed to divorce him. Mr Gundry had appeared on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway appearing as a guest at the wedding of Sam Blackburn and Michelle Brooker, which aired as part of the entertainment show.
Guests at the wedding had been told they were on the way to Ms Brooker’s 30th birthday party, only to find themselves walking onto a live television show where she and her partner were actually getting married. Mr Gundry, wearing a grey waistcoat and glasses, was spotted dancing with a blonde woman in a black dress.
Helen Gundry’s post afterwards went viral, gaining more than 30,000 likes, 10,000 comments and 10,000 shares.
Mr Gundry reportedly refused to comment when approached by the Sunday Mirror while Ms Brooker did not return their calls.
