Steve King&comma; is known for having the deadly foot-in-mouth desease&comma; he is even better known for his insensitive&comma; sexist and sometimes racially charged remarks&period; His latest gaffe&comma; Monday  on MSNBC  will go down in history as much&comma; for it&&num;8217&semi;s tone-deafness&comma; as for his sheer ignorance about the &&num;8216&semi;March Of Civilization&&num;8221&semi;&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;While on the MSNBC daily coverage of the GOP convention moderated by Chris Hayes&comma; King was responding to writer Charlie Pierce’s MSNBC panel comments about &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;old white people” running the Republican Party&comma; when he reached into the Pat Buchanan bag for his own race’s supremacy&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><img class&equals;"alignnone size-full wp-image-50304" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;konniemoments&period;com&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2016&sol;07&sol;april-ryan-with-steve-king1&period;png" alt&equals;"april ryan with steve king1" width&equals;"689" height&equals;"378" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<h6><strong>Correspondent April Ryan could not get in her rebutal to Rep King<&sol;strong><&sol;h6>&NewLine;<p>His justification for his opposition to the minorities outreach program initiated  by the Republican Party in 2012&comma; is that &&num;8216&semi;non-white &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;subgroups” have not contributed to civilization&period;&&num;8217&semi;<br &sol;>&NewLine;King tsaid that as far as he was concerned&comma; the GOP did not need toaccomodate the views and needs of no-white sub-groups&comma; rather they should adher to the needs of the white majority and the other groups would just have to fall in line&period; In his opinion&comma; trying to broaden the scope of the party&&num;8217&semi;s appeal to be all-inclusive &&num;8216&semi;is a waste of time&period;&&num;8217&semi;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;I would ask you to go back through history and figure out where are these contributions that have been made by these other categories of people that you are talking about&period; Where did any other subgroup of people contribute more to civilization&quest;” the Republican said&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Than white people&quest;” moderator Chris Hayes interjected&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Than Western civilization itself that&&num;8217&semi;s rooted in Western Europe&comma; which included Pierce and reporter April Ryan&period; Moderator Chris Hayes&comma; unfortunately denied the other panelists the right of rebutal&comma; especially Ryan&comma; the only minority member of the panel who was chomping at the bit to respond to the implied insult&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Hayes mentioned that Europe had produced Hitler and Stalin before trying to quickly end the segment&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;On cable news we’re not going to resolve the relative strengths of various strands of civilizational prowess&comma;” he said as he thanked King for coming on his show&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The congressman has made a name for himself this summer with racial remarks and symbols&comma; saying in June that putting Harriet Tubman on the &dollar;20 bill is racist&comma; presumably against white people&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Controversy swirled around the Iowan again earlier this month after a Confederate flag was seen on his desk&comma;
