A Miami man chose a rather colorful way to introduce himself to the presiding judge in a Florida courtroom, Thursday morning. Calvin Griffith, 30, was arraigned for a bond hearing in a case of grand theft auto when he decided to showcase his twerking skills.
The was Griffith’s his first appearance on charges he allegedly broke into a high school and stole an employee’s car.
As Judge Catherine Pooler read his charges aloud, Griffith can be seen on in-court camera twerking before laughter is heard in the Miami-Dade County bond court.
Surveillance video taken from Miami Edison Senior High School captured Calvin Lloyd Griffith walking through the building, taking an employee’s keys and then stealing the Volkswagen Passat from the parking lot of the school, according to the arrest report.

He had broken out into the twerk routine after his microphone was turned off when he continued speaking during the hearing,Griffith began twerking. “He’s got problems,” an unamused Pooler said. His family allegedly claims he is mentally ill and was off his medications, his mother was present in court on Thursday with a bag of prescription medications for him.

However, a straight-faced Judge Pooler did not seem to be amused by the impromptu dance, setting his bond at $18,500, after realizing he was on the in-court camera, Griffith also appeared to say ‘Hi mom’ and ‘My mom’s here’
Griffith was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly entering Miami Edison Senior High School the day before and taking a pair of car keys in the main office.
He then allegedly went out to the parking lot where he stole a Volkswagen Passat.
School surveillance cameras captured him walking out of the school and reportedly stealing the car.

The next day, officers confronted him at the school where they recovered the stolen car and found the victim’s set of keys in his pocket. He was then charged with burglary in an occupied dwelling, petit theft, grand theft auto and trespassing in a school/school safety zone.
Griffith’s family members are dropping hinting about mental health issues.
The suspect, who had previously been arrested in March and May on charges of grand theft auto, according to arrest records, was also ordered to stay away from Miami Edison Senior High
