<p>A BABY girl has made a miraculous recovery from a life-threatening heart problem – and her parents are certain it’s thanks to a saint’s RELIC placed on her bed by her dad.<br />
Little Caitlin Dooley, from Carlow in Ireland, spend 25 days on life support following her birth on May 12 – and at one stage parents Kieran and Sandra thought a heart transplant might be the only way to save her.<br />
And they feared the worst when her heart function plunged to a low of 33 per cent.</p>

<p>Caitlin had been in hospital since just 11 days old, when she was admitted because she wasn’t feeding properly. Then, her oxygen levels plummeted from a normal 95 per cent to 60, and then to just 37 per cent.<br />

<p>Dad Kieran explained “Doctors took her and literally went running down the corridor into an elevator with her, to take her to ICU which was on the floor below. It was extremely distressing.A day later, the tiny tot was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy – and her condition deteriorated, replacing doctors’ discussions about a possible heart transplant with newfound concerns that her other organs were going to fail.<br />

“People can make up their own minds about these things, but it has made me think.”<br />
On June 27, Caitlin’s heart function increased to around 70 per cent – so she was taken off her ventilator, and the transplant list.<br />
And her dad has also credited Ronald McDonald House, a charity organisation which provides accommodation for families with children in hospital, with playing a part in Caitlin’s recovery.</p>

He is also planning to run a marathon to raise money for the charity, which depends on donations.<br />
He added: “They need $447,000 a year to keep going.”</p>
