<article id="ra-body">Sony producer Dr. Luke is doubling down in his libel fight against Kesha’s mom. He hs filed a second defamation suit against the singer&#8217;s mom which builds on the first. The lawsuit was filed in a Tennessee federal court, seeking unspecified damages.<br />
Top producer and artiste manager, Lukasz Gottwald, whom Kesha has accused of drugging, raping and emotionally abusing her over the course of a decade, sued Pebe Sebert this week for allegedly continuing to “publicly defame” him after his original October 2014 suit.</p>

<p>In his original counter-suit against the &#8216;Tik Tok&#8217; singer , Dr. Luke maintained that <a href="https://konniemoments.com/2016/02/23/dr-luke-breaks-silence-i-did-ntot-drug-or-rape-kesha/">Kesha is a liar who is making up stories</a> just so she can get out of her legally binding contract with him and she tried extorting him in filing her lawsuit accusing him of sexual and physical assault over a period of years.<br />
Luke&#8217;s further claims that the tactics of fabricating lies is being engineered by Kesha&#8217;s mother, Pebe Sebert, and Kesha&#8217;s new management firm. Luke claims Kesha tried to extort him by threatening to spread lies about him to a blogger who started a &#8220;Free Kesha&#8221; website unless he released her from her recording contract.<br />
And Luke said in his lawsuit that he had a copy of a draft of Kesha&#8217;s abuse lawsuit for months ahead of the filing, and she was threatening to file it if he didn&#8217;t release her, insinuating extortion.<br />
After <a href="https://konniemoments.com/2016/02/19/kesha-sobs-in-court-as-judge-rules-she-cant-terminate-sony-music-contract/">his victory against Kesha in the New York courts,</a> she dropped her rape case against him in California, but Luke in October 2014, Dr. Luke sued Pebe Sebert in New York and in Tennessee, where she lives, claiming she committed defamation by participating in a smear campaign accusing him of drugging and sexually abusing Kesha.</p>

<p>The suit against Pebe Sebert was dismissed in a New York court, in February 2016, but the Tennessee claims continued. Building on the first lawsuit, Dr. Luke’s lawyers have now filed a second defamation lawsuit against Sebert, in Tennessee. Filed September 7, the lawsuit includes more recent incidents of alleged defamation, including tweets from Sebert as well as a March 10 interview in <i><a href="http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/magazine-feature/6980931/kesha-dr-luke-battle-inside-story-mom-pebe-sebert-interview-exclusive" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Billboard</a></i>.<br />
It claims the mother-daughter duo had promoted “false and shocking accusations” about him, it cites that March interview Pebe Sebert gave Billboard magazine, in which she alleged Gottwald had treated Kesha like a “prisoner” and subjected her to daily abuse.<br />
It also cites a November tweet from the 60-year-old Sebert, who allegedly wrote, “Kesha can’t legally put out music unless she makes it under complete control of a man who raped her at 18.”</p>

<p>Gottwald’s attorney Christine Lepera, in a statement said Pebe Sebert had continued lobbing “outrageous, false, and defamatory statements against Dr. Luke in her widespread media campaign to damage him and smear his name” after the original lawsuit.<br />
“Pebe Sebert’s lawyers flat out refused to allow us to add those statements to the existing case or to toll the statute of limitations on them — so we’ve been compelled to file an additional action,” Lepera said.<br />
Meanwhile Sebert’s lawyer Alex Little debunked the lawsuit claiming it marked “Dr. Luke’s second effort to sue a mother for publicly supporting and believing her daughter about being raped.”</p>

<p>“It’s also a transparent attempt to delay the trial of these issues,” he added. “Mrs. Sebert looks forward to presenting her case to a jury as soon as possible. When the evidence is made public, she expects the jury will conclude that all of her statements have been justified.”<br />
Kesha, seeking to exit a six-album deal with Sony under her ex-mentor and alleged rapist, filed a California civil suit against Gottwald in October 2014 alleging sexual assault, gender violence and intentional infliction of emotional distress.<br />
The producer responded with a counter-suit in New York for defamation and breach of contract, and that city was deemed the proper forum for their court clash.<br />
After Gottwald won major victories in February and April that kept the Kesha bound to her contract, the singer in August dismissed her California lawsuit to focus on her music. She but still plans to continue the legal battle in New York.</p>
