<article id="ra-body">Three men have been arrested in the stray bullet death of Olympian Tyson Gay’s 15-year-old daughter Trinity. 21-year-old D&#8217;Vonta Middlebrooks, as well as, Chazerae Taylor, 38, and his 19-year-old son D’Markeo Taylor are being held in connection with the shooting which occured outside a fast food restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky, Sunday morning.<br />
Ex-con Middlebrooks, is believed to have fired shots outside the Cook Out restaurant, where Trinity Gay was hit early Sunday. The alleged killer who has previous drug charge convictions was also charged as a felon in possession of a gun. Police said he fired multiple shots at the time of the incident.</p>

<p>The other suspects, father and son duo of Chazerae Taylor and D’Markeo Taylor, were charged with wanton endangerment for their role in the shooting, police said Sunday night.<br />
“I just want people to stop shooting and realize who they’re hurting. It’s just random. They don’t understand, they don’t understand who they’re hurting.”<br />
It was not immediately clear what led to the 4 a.m. shooting, where witnesses saw an exchange of gunfire between the occupants of two cars. It is reported that the victim who was out with friends, was not in either of the cars,. She was shot in the neck and died soon after at a local hospital.</p>

<div class="ra-module h"> Trinity Gay was a high school sprinter following in the footsteps of her 34-year-old father. She was a top sprinter at Lafayette High School, her father&#8217;s Alma mater. A three time Olympian and four-time U.S. champion in the 100 meters, Tyson Gay is just came back after serving a drug ban add the a silver medal to his long list of trophies in a storied career.<br />
The regional 200-meter champion, Trinity finished in fourth place at the 2015100-meter dash state championship. In 2014, her dad watched his daughter compete in an event at the Tyson Gay Invitational track and field competition. She was quoted as saying after winning in her event, “It feels great. Because I can actually go after what [Tyson Gay] was doing, and doing really good.”<br />
Trinity&#8217;s grandmother, Daisy Lowe, said her teenage grand daughter had vowed to make up for dad&#8217;s disappointments with her own honors.<br />
“When her dad got disqualified, her text to him was, ‘Daddy, it’s OK, I’m gonna get the gold for you”.<br />
“There was no doubt in our minds that was going to happen,” Lowe said. “Not only did we get cheated, the world got cheated.”</div>

<p>Her mother Shoshana Boyd, said her daughter wanted to become a surgeon, but also hoped to match the athletic glory of her famous father. Boyd describing Trinity said “She was so innocent, she was so innocent,”<br />
“I should never have to bury my child,” Boyd said. “She wanted to be the fastest woman in the world, and they took that away from her.”</p>

<p>The Olympic sprinter who currently lives in the Orlando area, where his daughter had visited last week for fall break, rushed to Lexington after hearing news of her death.<br />
Trinity&#8217;s death sparked an outpouring of messages and comments online.<br />
“Sending our thoughts &; prayers to @TysonLGay &; his loved ones as they mourn the tragic &; senseless loss of his daughter, Trinity,” USA Track &; Field tweeted.<br />
Her coach, Crystal Washington, remembered her as a popular student athlete,<br />
“The kids were really close with her,” Washington said.“We’ve got to do something.”<br />
A vigil at the school’s track is scheduled in the evening, today. Meanwhile, grief counselors have been posted to Lafayette High School to assist her classmates cope with the death.</p>
