Da’von Markell Mullins, aka Stephon Hendricks, charged with killing his girlfriend and then turning the gun on himself on saturday, dies in county hospital on Sunday

Kayla Yow, 18, was found dead inside of her Glen Burnie, MD apt on Saturday night, apparently shot by Mullins 

Cops found Mullins, 22, lying by her side, injured but alive, rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died, Sunday afternoon

Investigators said the incident is an apparent murder-suicide

A 22-year-old man killed his girlfriend and then tried to take his own life, police in Anne Arundel County, Maryland said Saturday.
The teenage girl was killed by her boyfriend before he attempted suicide. Da’von Mullins died at a Maryland hospital. WTOP reports Kayla Yow, 18, was found dead inside of her Glen Burnie apartment on the night of October 28. Mullins, also known as, Stephon Hendricks, was lying by her side, injured but alive. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died Sunday afternoon.

Officers found Yow, 18, dead in the living room of her apartment in Glen Burnie on Friday. Her boyfriend, Da’von Markell Mullins, of Baltimore, was found with an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body, a gun was found in his lap.
Officers went to the apartment after a relative of Mullins’ called 911 at around 7 p.m., concerned over text messages that suggested he intended to harm himself.
Police were told that he might have been at his girlfriend’s apartment in the 400 block of Glen Mar Road. After no one responded to knocks at her door, officers obtained a key from the maintenance office and entered the residence, where they Yow was and Mullins.
Yow’s remains were taken to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of her death.
Police said they have obtained a warrant charging Mullins with murder.

Honors student Yow, a 2012 transplant from Florida  and her ‘boyfriend’ seemed to be sending crossed signals on social media, regarding their love life.
She claims on her Facebook page, that she’s “interested in women.” and added that she’s been in a relationship since February 2016.
On October 15 she wrote on her page,” Please shut tf up. Thank you. Stephon Hendricks.” Stephon Hendricks is the pseudonym that Mullins used on Facebook.
On her Twitter page a day later, she re-tweeted two messages from Mullins, one read, “I’m chasing my dreams I’m just worrying about making it to the top almost there Nov. 18th is the day #grindhard God see’s everything.” Another said, “We ready go to the top believe me I’m not working overtime for nothing.”
22-year-old Mullins was a track star at Lansdowne High School in Baltimore where he graduated in 2012.He writes on his Facebook page, “God is good all the time . The lord is my salvation.”
Since news of his passing, Mullins  who says on his Facebook page that he’s originally from the Bronx, NY has been mourned by friends and family on social media.
