<p>Two brothers from Georgia who entered guilty pleas to charges of drugging their parents and trying to beat them to death have been sentenced to serve 20 years, each, in prison.<br />

The brothers pled guilty thirteen charges including felony, kidnapping, aggravated assault and first-degree arson.<br />
Christopher and Cameron Ervin admitted to “attempting to set the[ir parents] residence on fire, strangling their parents with a pillow either a pillow or plastic bag, and stabbing the father,” according to Gwinnett County police.</p>

<p>Police caught the pair at Yvonne and Zachary Ervin’s Snellville home on Sept. 5, 2015 after their mom dialed 911 as her sons stabbed their dad Zachery and covered her face in Saran wrap.<br />
Yvonne&#8217;s desperate 911 call was played back in court, helped the prosecution get the conviction.<br />

The parents said one of the sons had asked if the brothers could make dinner for the family on Sept. 4, last year. Their mother told police this was “odd behavior.”<br />
Investigators believe the two sons mixed Xanax into their parents’ cocktails that night and tried to kill them the next morning. Both parents suffered serious injuries, and Zachary Ervin was hospitalized for six days.<br />
Police confirmed that on Sept. 5, Christopher and Cameron plotted to kill their parents Zachery and Yvonne Ervin by drugging them at dinner and cutting the gas line in an attempt to explode their home.<br />
According to police testimony at the trial, when the parents were not dead, the older son Christopher said, “This isn&#8217;t working; We&#8217;ll have to shoot them.&#8221;</p>

<p>Seeking leniency for their boys, Yvonne and Zachary Ervin both testified in court on their sons’ behalf.<br />
Yvonne says it was a bad intake of marijuana that spiked the aggressive behavior in her son Chris, not to mention both the boys’ history’s of addiction and depression.<br />
Zachary said, &#8220;That night, I saw Satan. I knew shortly after that, that what had happened to us wasn&#8217;t my sons.&#8221;<br />
The younger brother Cameron said, “During my time that I have spent in the Gwinnett County Detention Center fighting this case … I&#8217;ve had at least one visit a week, which is at least 60 visits, with my parents, one on one… I realize how much I love them. And I realize how much they love me.&#8221;</p>

<p>Cameron said that both him and his brother are not the people they were before the assault.<br />
Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter agreed to a plea deal of 50 years in jail, 20 served by each brother. There will be the possibility of a 30-year probation after 10 to 20 years is served.<br />
Yvonne and Zachary have launched a nonprofit foundation, &#8220;Fighting for Forgiveness,&#8221; as a result of the calculated attack from their offspring.</p>
