<div class="ra-byline">The city of New York has reached a $450,000 settlement with five female students who claimed they were molested and sexually harassed by their teacher at Brooklyn Technical High School.<br />
The conduct of disgraced former teacher Sean Shaynak’s included taking one of the plaintiffs, identified in court papers only by the initials “V.V.,” to a nude beach, having sex with her on a daily basis, and taking her to a Halloween party dressed in a school girl costume &#8220;complete with female underwear, high heels, and tights.&#8221;</div>

<article id="ra-body">The second plaintiff, identified as “S.S.,” claimed in her suit that Shaynak had sex with her at least six times in 2013 when she was an 11th grader in his physics lab class, and also sent her text messages of his exposed genitals, according to the papers filed in Brooklyn Federal Court.<br />

<h6><strong>Former Brooklyn Tech High School teacher Sean Shaynak was sentenced to 5 years in prison after pleading guilty to showing lewd photographs of his genitals to seven female students and kidnapping one across state lines</strong></h6>
<p>Three earlier suits had been filed and settled in Brooklyn Supreme Court for the same amount.<br />
Shaynak, had admitted that from March 2012 to August 2013, he shared lewd photographs and had inappropriate conversations with seven female students, including abducting one across state lines to a nude beach.<br />
The former aeronautics teacher at Brooklyn Tech High School pleaded guilty to nine of the 36 counts against him in exchange for five years in prison.</p>

<p>A spokesman for the Law Department said the settlements were in the best interest of the city.<br />
The suits&#8217; alleged that Brooklyn Tech&#8217;s principal was aware of Shaynak&#8217;s wildly inappropriate behavior since 2010 when the teacher had dressed in a &#8220;sexually provocative women&#8217;s French maid costume&#8221; for a high school sponsored dance and sexually harassed female students by lifting up the skirt and making lewd gestures.<br />
Shaynak, 46, cut a plea deal with the Brooklyn district attorney&#8217;s office last December and is currently serving a five-year jail term.<br />
He was not sued personally by the teens, and will be eligible for parole in January 2019, according to the state Department of Corrections website.</p>
