College football ended for Florida International University’s, Jonnu Smith, a projected 2017 NFL draft pick when his 20-year-old girlfriend, Mary Gaspar, doused him with boiling water, causing severe burns on his head, neck, back, shoulder and arm
She told cops she felt Smith wasn’t giving her the level of attention she craved, so she boiled water and poured over him on October 31

College ball for the senior tight end, the team’s premier offensive player over his four seasons and easily the Panthers’ best 2017 NFL Draft prospect, ended on Halloween when his pregnant girlfriend doused him with boiling water.
According to the arrest affidavit, Smith suffered severe burns on his head, neck, back, a shoulder and an arm. 20-year-old Mary Gasper, five months pregnant with Smith’s child, was charged with aggravated battery. She entered a not guilty plea and was released on a pretrial release order.
Sources say the pair argued through the day because Gasper was feeling felt neglected. She was in Smith’s dorm room and “feeling extremely emotional and stressed,” when she doused him with hot boiling water.

According to the arrest affidavit Gaspar submitted at Florida International University police headquarters: While in Smith’s dorm room and “feeling extremely emotional and stressed,” she boiled a pot of water. Then, she walked over to Smith and poured it on him.
When Smith didn’t react deeply as she wanted, she started hitting him with her open hands, she further stated.
Smith reportedly, suffered severe burns on his head, neck, back, a shoulder and an arm. He had to be hospitalized after the incident. Gaspar was arrested two days later. She has since pleaded not guilty, and was released on a pretrial order.
Smith has been seen back on campus even though he’s not fit for the football field.

While the college career may have ended for Smith who was FIU’s premier offensive player over his four seasons and easily the Panthers’ best 2017 NFL Draft prospect, he hopes to recover on time for the draft.
The early 2017 NFL Draft projections have Smith as a late-round pick or undrafted free agent. He made the mid season John Mackey Award (best college tight end) watch list in 2014 and 2015, and the preseason Mackey Award watch list in 2015 and 2016.

The 6-3, 232-pound Smith finishes his Florida International career fifth in career receptions (175), career receiving yards (1,936) and third in touchdown catches (17). He holds FIU records for touchdown catches in a game (three) and tied for touchdown catches a season (8).
No tight end in the country owned better numbers in 2014 than Smith, the national leader among tight ends in receptions (61), receiving yards (710) and touchdowns (eight).
Smith is third in FIU history with 17 career touchdown catches, and fourth with 175 receptions. He caught 39 passes for 441 yards and three touchdowns this season and will likely be considered for the NFL Draft.
Just what we need in this country: yet another self-centered mental freak making babies she can’t possibly be disciplined enough to raise.
And people wonder why this nation’s communities are shredded by anarchy.
