An Iraqi war veteran and former Mount Sinai Hospital emergency room physician  who sexually abused four of his female patients, pleaded guilty, Friday. in the most disgusting instance he was accused of ejaculating on the patient’s face .
David Newman, 46, admitted to all five counts of sex abuse in his indictment, in New York’s Manhattan Supreme Court. In exchange he will serve two years behind bars, just half of what prosecutors had been recommending, plus an additional three years of supervision.
The prominent doctor at Mount Sinai Hospital became the target of an New York PD investigation after a 22-year-old patient accused him of knocking her out with morphine and ejaculating on her face, in January.
Dr. David Newman , an emergency physician previously regarded as a leading advocate for health care reforms, had been under investigation for the incident and barred from seeing patients.
The complainant said she came to the emergency room at Mount Sinai Hospital on Jan 11, shortly before 10:30 p.m. complaining of pain in her right shoulder. Taken to a private room the nurses gave her two pain pills and a shot for inflammation. Because she was still in pain, a nurse administered morphine. and instructed to change into a gown for X-rays.
According to the patient, she removed her shirt and bra, but kept her pants on. She was still dressed in the gown when Dr. Newman walked into her room following the X-ray and told her: “I’m going to give you a shot of morphine”.
Although she told him the nurse had already administered the drug, but she then felt a burning sensation in her arm that convinced her that Newman gave her more morphine anyway.
She alleged that while Dr Newman was examining her back, she told him she felt pain on the right side of her chest, that’s when he started fondling her breasts. The doctor then moved her bed away from the wall and positioned himself with his back toward the patient. The woman heard the sounds of someone masturbating , and then felt semen on her face, she claimed.
All the while, she was unable to move because she was heavily medicated, sources said.

In the wake of the accusations, Mount Sinai Hospital barred David Newman, an Iraq War veteran, from seeing patients

Prior to admitting to his improper conduct in court, Newman had tried to deny his crimes when confronted by cops.
“I am embarrassed because I [masturbated] in the lounge, and it was possible that the ejaculate may have gone from my hands to the woman’s blanket,” he told a detective on Jan. 12.”She may have been mistaken about me ejaculating on her face because she was on morphine,” he added.
Before taking advantage of his 29-year-old patient, he gave her a heavy dose of propofol for no medical purpose.
Three additional victims – ages 18, 19 and 21 – received unnecessary “breast exams” from the physician.
Newman is expected to be sentenced on Jan. 23.
The 2005 Iraq veteran is a major in the U.S. Army Reserves. He  published a book called “Hippocrates Shadow: Secrets from the House of Medicine,” in which he lampoons what he sees as a growing disconnect between doctors and their patients.
Records show he was also the subject of a 2009 medical malpractice suit that was dismissed by a judge.
