<article id="ra-body">A Pennsylvania mother shared a lengthy suicide note on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/sheri.griffin.90/posts/10154939477086177">Facebook</a> before suffocating her 1-year-old son and killing herself, police said.Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to the Shrewsbury Township home Sheri Shermeyer shared with her husband on Baltimore Street at around 1 p.m. Dec. 26 to conduct a welfare check. It’s there that troopers found Shermeyer and her 1-year-old son dead in an apparent murder suicide. It’s believed Shermeyer suffocated John Shermeyer before shooting herself.</p>

<p>On December 26, 2016, Tracy&#8217;s wife, Sheri Shermeyer, wrote a <a class="tooltippable" href="https://www.everipedia.com/Murder_suicide/">murder suicide</a> note on Facebook. In it, she details suffering signs of depression, the abuse she&#8217;s been coping with under her husband, themes of feeling trapped, regret, loneliness, and despair are prevalent throughout the note.<br />
The chilling Facebook post, which appears to be directed at her child’s father, went on to detail the love she feels for her son as well as the challenges she’s faced “as a single parent in a 2 parent home.”<br />
Sheri goes on to threaten husband Tracy Shermeyer with action intended to rob him of his legacy, and killing their son.<br />
The possibly depressed Sheri then proceeded to suffocate her 12-month-year-old son, John Russell Shermeyer before shooting herself in the head. Their bodies were discovered by a welfare check after her Facebook post.</p>

<p>In the note written on boxing day Sheri writes “I have been slowly dying inside &#8230;” “I feel that the ONLY thing I have to live for is this little guy asleep in my arms right now, John. He is the only reason why I haven’t blown my head off right now.<br />
“And even now all I can think about is leaving this world. Putting a gun in my mouth and leaving. Which is what is about to happen.”<br />
The note was written a little after 11.00 am on Monday morning, and couple of hours after the 40-year-old mother gut wrenching post was published, Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to her home in Shrewsbury Township around 1 p.m. to conduct a welfare check, according to the <a href="http://www.yorkdispatch.com/story/news/local/2016/12/27/shrewsbury-woman-posted-online-message-before-murder-suicide/95892410/">York Dispatch</a>.<br />
There, troopers found Sheri Shermeyer dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and the body of 1-year-old son, John, apparently suffocated by his mother, police said.</p>

<p>Shermeyer, who married Tracy Alan Shermeyer in October 2014, appears to indirectly address her partner in the message.<br />
“You will never see your son again,” she wrote. “You don’t deserve to have a son, a legacy. Why should you have your name carried on? You are a nasty man.”<br />
Shermeyer ended her Facebook missive by blasting her son’s father as a “stumbling drunk” and “an a&#8211;hole who deserves to be alone.”<br />
“Oh before I get forget. Make sure you take mine and John’s life insurance and pay off my debts,” she wrote. “Enjoy your miserable life. Thanks for saying good bye when you left this morning.”<br />
The mother&#8217;s death is being investigated as a suicide and her toddler’s as a homicide. Meanwhile, autopsies on mother and her son were scheduled for Wednesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital.</p>
