Spanish police raid illegal car factory manufacturing conterfeit supercars using second hand Toyotas, Fords and Peugeots in Girona, northern Spain
The gang were selling ‘dodgy’ Ferraris and Lamborghinis on the internet

The batch of fake sports cars were based on second hand Toyota, Ford or Peugeot engines and mechanicals.

The bodies were moulded using fiberglass and all the faces on the clocks and instrument panels were printed out and stuck over the existing units.

The gang also stuck fake Ferrari and Lamborghini decals and emblems on each of the cars.
Police became aware of the gang after one of the cars was offered for sale in Benidorm, through a number of websites for approximately ÂŁ35,000. Detectives tracked the gang to their workshop in Girona and found 14 cars on the production line. Four of the Ferraris were ready for sale, according to police, complete with fake registration documents.
In addition, police found a fully equipped cannabis farm with 950 pots. Three people were arrested after the factory was raided earlier this week  Police tracked a member of the gang who had sold one of the fake Ferraris in Benidorm.

 

The counterfeit cars were selling for approximately ÂŁ35,000 – considerably less than real ones. Buyer beware however, instead of Ferrari thoroughbred engines, the cars had units from humble donor vehicles.

    Wow, wouldn’t a buyer notice that the acceleration and handling of their new Ferrari was lousy? I mean a Peugeot ?
