<p class="mol-para-with-font">Daniel Spurgeon, 47, and 53-year-old Jenise Spurgeon, were arrested in Cape Coral, Florida, on outstanding warrants stemming from an ongoing investigation into allegations of sexual abuse in Florence, Alabama, where the couple had lived years earlier.<br />
Florence Police Department reports that in July 2016, detectives in Alabama were contacted by their counterparts in Florida about abuse allegation involving the couple and 10 of their children, which led to an investigation into their past conduct.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">The couple had lived in north Florence until 2015, when they relocated to Cape Coral. Vo one is sure of the number of kids that have passed through the household but Bill Pimm, a former neighbor in Cape Coral told <a href="http://www.nbc-2.com/story/34700896/cape-coral-woman-arrested-on-sex-abuse-charges">nbc</a> &#8221; At one point, Daniel had told me that they fostered to adopt 35 kids, Bill Pimm, a former neighbor in Cape Coral.<br />
After conducting multiple interviews and gathering evidence in the case, police in Alabama issued warrants this week for the arrest of the &#8216;professional&#8217; foster parents.<br />
Daniel Spurgeon was already in the Lee County Jail in Florida with holds placed on him for the warrants in Alabama.<br />
Jenise Spurgeon was taken into custody on Wednesday during a court hearing on related charges in Florida.</p>

<div>She is facing 100 counts each of child abuse, endangering the welfare of a child and enticing a child for immoral purposes.<br />
The husband and wife are currently awaiting extradition to Lauderdale County, Alabama.</p>

<p>Daniel Spurgeon is facing 115 counts of first-degree sex abuse, 122 counts of child abuse, four counts of first-degree sodomy, four counts of sexual torture, three counts of domestic violence by strangulation or suffocation, six counts of first-degree rape, 115 counts of enticing a child for immoral purposes, six counts of incest and 11 counts of first-degree human trafficking.<br />
The charges against Jenise Spurgeon mirror the charges levied against her husband. She is facing more than 100 counts each of child abuse, endangering the welfare of a child and enticing a child for immoral purposes, as well as a single count of domestic violence by strangulation and 11 counts of human trafficking.<br />
Florence police said the victims&#8217; ages range from toddlers to teenagers, reported <a class="" href="http://www.al.com/news/huntsville/index.ssf/2017/03/florida_foster_parents_charged.html#incart_2box" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Al.com.<br />
</a><a class="" href="http://www.news-press.com/story/news/2017/03/08/cape-coral-woman-arrested-child-abuse-case/98931786/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">The News-Press</a> reported that the case began unfolding in July 2016 when three teenage girls were reported to officers as being extremely intoxicated at a KFC. They girls some adopted and some foster kids told officers they lived with their parents and seven other adopted and or foster siblings in the Spurgeon household. They claimed their dad, Daniel Spurgeon, had given them the alcohol. They went on to detail being sexually and physically abused by their dad.<br />
Following up, officers also found that the children hadn&#8217;t been to a doctor nor a dentist in years and that most of them had scabies, which according to the <a href="http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/scabies/gen_info/faqs.html">Centers for Disease Control and Prevention</a>: &#8221; is spread easily to sexual partners and household members.&#8221;<br />
&#8221; Scabies in adults,&#8221; the center said, &#8220;frequently is sexually acquired. Scabies sometimes is spread indirectly by sharing articles such as clothing, towels, or bedding used by an infested person; however, such indirect spread can occur much more easily when the infested person has crusted scabies,&#8221; they said.<br />
one of the Spurgeons&#8217; foster children, a 19-year-old daughter who moved out of their home last year, then went to the police claiming that she had been sexually abused from age 12 to 16, while the family lived in Alabama.<br />
Shortly after, Jenise Spurgeon pled not guilty to 10 counts of aggravated child abuse. She had been out on $300,000 bond.<br />
Her husband Daniel, was also charged with 15 criminal counts in the Florida case, including sexual assault and lewd and lascivious behavior on a child between ages 12 and 18</div>
