<p>An apparent murder-suicide inside an elementary school classroom in San Bernardino left three people dead, including a teacher the shooter and an 8-year-old student. One 9-year-old student was also injured but is expected to recover.<br />
The recently wed but estranged California man shot and killed his wife and one of her students at the elementary school before turning the gun on himself, officials said.<br />
According to Cedric Anderson, 53, is believed to have said he needed to drop something off to Karen Smith, also 53, concealing a handgun before terrifying her 15 students and two teachers aides.<br />
Soon after Police Chief Jarrod Burguan said the Anderson was &#8221; down&#8221; and that North Park School faces no further threat,&#8217; Burguan said on Twitter.<br />
Two students were airlifted to a hospital after what was believed to be a domestic dispute, San Bernardino City Unified School District spokeswoman Maria Garcia, said. A Police statement said their conditions were not immediately known.<br />
Anderson, recently estranged from Smith after a brief marriage, is believed to have reloaded at least once before shooting himself in the head with a revolver.<br />
Smith posted on her page that she and the alleged shooter were married in January.</p>

<p>All other students were safe and were being taken to a local college campus, where parents or guardians could pick them up, she said. Students gathered on a field and a blacktop basketball court inside the fenced-in grounds of the campus near a line of school buses.<br />
The school has about 600 students in kindergarten through sixth grades.<br />
Frantic parents ran up a sidewalk looking for information about their children but were not able to learn immediately what happened. Several parents interviewed on TV said their children were too young to carry mobile phones, so they had not been able to contact them to see if they were safe.</p>

<p>The city of 216,000 was the site of the December 2015 terror attack that killed 14 people and wounded 22 others at a meeting of San Bernardino County employees. Husband-and-wife shooters Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik were killed in a gun battle with authorities later that day.<br />
The city is known for its high rates of violent crime, especially homicides, and has struggled to emerge from bankruptcy.</p>
