<p class="mol-para-with-font">A Boston couple both medical respected doctors were slain in their upmarket penthouse apartment, on Friday night.<br />
After weathering gunshots from the alleged killer from inside the couple&#8217;s apartment, police gained entrance and found Dr Richard Field and Dr Lina Bolanos with their throats slit. Responding officers had been met by gunshots from the alleged killer when they arrived at the $1.9million penthouse apartment in South Boston where Dr Field, 54, and Dr Lina Bolanos, his 38-year-old fiance lived.<br />
Ex-con Bampumim Teixeira, did not hit the officers before they shot him multiple times and wounded him. Teixeira, 30, was transported to Tufts Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.</p>

<p>Reports from <a class="" href="http://boston.cbslocal.com/2017/05/06/south-boston-penthouse-murder-dorchester-ave/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CBS Boston</a> say the apartment building has a special security system. In order to get inside and to use the elevator, a special key is needed. However, Boston police believe the two doctors and their killer knew each other. The motive for the murders is unknown, but police say the crime does not appear to be random, according to <a class="" href="http://www.wcvb.com/article/two-dead-suspect-in-custody-after-boston-officers-shot-at/9613730" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">WCVB</a>. Boston Police Commissioner William B Evans observed that for: &#8221; someone to come here, go up to the 11th floor, to the penthouse, we got to believe that somehow there was some type of knowledge of each other,&#8221; Evans said.</p>

Echoing the sentiments of theMichael Gibbs, Bolanos&#8217;s godfather, said: &#8216;Hopefully, this guy that they caught will be able to say who he is and why this was done.<br />
&#8216;That’s all we’re hoping, is to get some kind of information. Why did this happen?&#8217;<br />
Field worked at North Shore Pain Management and had previously been an anesthesiologist and pain management specialist at Beverly Hospital and Brigham and Women&#8217;s Hospital.<br />
A statement from the NSPM clinic said: &#8216;Dr Field was a guiding vision at North Shore Pain Management and was instrumental in the creation of this practice.&#8217;<br />
The couple, pictured, were found in their $1.9 million penthouse apartment on the 11th floor.<br />
Police believe they knew the suspect, Teixeira Boston Police Commissioner William B Evans said: &#8216;(For) someone to come here, go up to the 11th floor, to the penthouse, we got to believe that somehow there was some type of knowledge of each other&#8217;.</p>

In a released statement, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary CEO, John Fernandez, said: &#8216;Dr Bolanos was an outstanding pediatric anesthesiologist and a wonderful colleague, in the prime of both her career and life.&#8217;<br />
The Suffolk County District Attorney&#8217;s office said Teixeira will be arraigned on Monday, according to <a class="" href="http://www.nbcboston.com/news/local/2-Found-Dead-in-Luxury-South-Boston-Condo-Man-in-Custody-421528873.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">NBC Boston</a>.<br />
He had previously been convicted of two counts of larceny, for passing notes demanding money from the same bank in 2014 and 2016.<br />
Teixeira plead guilty to both counts last year. No weapons were used in either incident. He had been released from a correctional facility after his nine-month sentence in April.</p>
