<p>The Florida man accused of sexually assaulting the sister of a Spanish exchange student he married was found dead in an apparent suicide, according to reports.<br />
Police said that they were called to Leary’s home early Tuesday and found him inside a car with his ex-wife Claudia, who is still alive.<br />
Dale Leary divorced his wife and married Marta San Jose in 2014, after she had come to his Miami-area home as a 16-year-old Spanish exchange student, two years earlier.<br />
Cops said last week that San Jose had convinced her sister to let Leary conduct a “vaginal examination” on her when the 14-year-old came to visit, leading to numerous alleged assaults.</p>

<p>Both Leary, 50, and 21-year-old San Jose, who Leary married when she was 18, pled not guilty last month on charges including lewd and lascivious behavior on a child, sexual performance with a child and contributing to the delinquency of a child.<br />
It was not immediately clear how Leary died, though he is believed to have killed himself.<br />
Dale Leary who had been convicted of sexual assault in the 1980s married a teen exchange student he was allowed to supervise, and then lured her 14-year-old sister to the U.S. before victimizing her, according to authorities.</p>

<p>At 19 dale Leary was charged with sexual assault on a woman after tying her up at gunpoint in 1985. He spent 60 days behind bars and 13 years on probation, after pleading guilty to the attack.<br />
According to the <a href="http://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/cutler-bay/article158639674.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Miami Herald</a>, he and an accomplice broke into a home, Leary bound the woman and forced her into the bathroom before sexually attacking her. The following year, Leary pled guilty to armed robbery, armed burglary, kidnapping, and lewd and lascivious behavior.<br />

When San Jose completed 11th grade, Leary and the teen flew to Spain to convince her parents to let her stay in the U.S. another year.<br />
Two years later Leary divorced Claudia Leary, his wife of 10 years, and married his exchange student, after San Jose turned 18.</p>

<p>Unaware of the marriage, San Jose&#8217;s parents sent her 14-year-old sister to Miami to accompany her back home, who learned only after arrival that her sister was married and living with her &#8216;host&#8217;.<br />
Marta proceeded to trick her younger sister into thinking she had been molested as a child, and persuaded her you to allow her new brother-in-law to conduct a &#8220;vaginal examination.&#8221; She assured the teen that Leary would be able to figure out if she had been sexually assaulted. The couple subsequently manipulated the teen into participating in sex acts and pornographic photo shoots, according to police.<br />
Leary not only sexually assaulted his wife&#8217;s sister on numerous occasions, in addition, Marta and Leary had sex in the presence of the victim &#8220;several times,&#8221; cops said.<br />
The “manipulating” began with Marta getting her younger sister to believe she had been sexually abused by her parents, something that didn’t really happen.<br />
The now 16-year-old, told police the two began to have sex in front of her and asking her to let Leary perform sex acts on her, saying it would help her deal with being a sex-abuse.<br />
They convinced her to join them in sex acts more than seven times.<br />
Another time, the sister told police, they plied her with alcohol before shooting photos of her only in high heels.</p>

<p>Marta&#8217;s younger sister, now 16, was eventually reunited with her parents.<br />
While San Jose, Leary&#8217;s last wife remains in jail, investigators are looking at his ex Claudia because although Leary divorced his Claudia Leary in 2014, before marrying San Jose, Claudia remained a part of their lives, and detectives had been examining what role, if any, she played in Leary’s suspected misconduct.</p>
