<p>A woman allegedly, granted her boyfriend’s death wish by shooting him in the head after he told her &#8216; he wanted to die because of an online cult.&#8217;<br />
That is the story Barbara Rogers gave Pennsylvania police before she was charged with criminal homicide in the death of 32-year-old Steven Mineo after fatally shooting him in the head in their Coolbaugh Township, Pa., home Saturday.<br />
Monroe police said Mineo, Mount Pocono, had asked Rogers, 42, to kill him before she called 911 to report the shooting.</p>

<p>“She identified that the deceased was having online issues with a cult and he wanted to be killed and requested she do it,&#8221; Pocono Mountain Regional Police Lt. Steven Williams told the TV station , <a href="http://www.wfmz.com/news/poconos-coal/shooting-victim-asked-girlfriend-to-kill-him-over-issue-with-cult-police-say/588644151">WFMZ-TV</a>.<br />
The name of the cult hasn’t been released, but <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/07/16/pennsylvania-murder-tied-to-online-cult-police-say.html">Fox News reports</a> that it invokes literature relating to the “new-age alien agenda.”<br />
A .45 caliber semi-automatic Glock was found next to Mineo&#8217;s body. Another handgun, a rifle and used casings were also discovered inside and outside the apartment, according to the network.<br />
Mineo’s friends said he had spoken of joining a cult and then wanting to get out of it because it didn’t correspond with his beliefs.<br />
“They dropped them, because they were too far out, instead of being religious, it was just a cult thing, they got rid of that,&#8221; friend Kevin Wade told <a href="http://wnep.com/2017/07/15/deadly-shooting-in-monroe-county/">WNEP-TV</a>. But that break may have not been clean. Rogers told police that problems with the group lead Mineo to want to die.<br />
&#8220;They were super religious people. I don&#8217;t know what was going on in their minds,&#8221; said Wade.</p>

<p>Mineo’s Facebook posts have mentioned conspiracy theories, aliens and his cover photo says, “Get right with God.”<br />
“These apocalyptic movies always give you a glimpse of what&#8217;s coming,” Mineo wrote in a July 13 post that he was watching “Resident Evil: Vendetta” with Rogers.<br />
“Keep your eyes peeled. Every year around this time the &#8216;4th of July&#8217; I always see a lot of UFO activity. &#8216;unidentified flying objects&#8217; and I&#8217;m not talking about the fireworks lol,” he said in another post on July 3.<br />
Rogers is being held in Monroe County jail without bail. Records show that she’s from Kissimmee, Fla. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 26.</p>
