as well as Maine and Pennsylvania&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The Albany judge&comma; Thursday sentenced Juan Ramos&comma; of Brooklyn&comma; to 15 years in prison and five years post-release supervision for being the leader of a drug ring that distributed hundreds of thousands of dollars in narcotics throughout the city&comma; they seized more than two pounds of bulk heroin ready to be packaged into 50&comma;000 bags with a street value of &dollar;500&comma;000&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Also seized during the investigation was more than a pound of bulk cocaine with an approximate street value of &dollar;50&comma;000&comma; Ramos also dropped off the drugs to customers in his &dollar;120&comma;000 BMW&comma; the Attorney General’s office said&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Ramos’ sentencing follows the launch of Schneiderman&&num;8217&semi;s Suburban and Upstate Response to the Growing Epidemic Initiative&comma; which is designed to crackdown on heroin&comma; opioid and narcotics trafficking networks&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The SURGE Initiative targets gangs and individuals who deal heroin and opioids and commit acts of violence in suburban and upstate communities across New York State&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Three major traffickers Diomedes Silfa&comma; of Bronx&comma; New York&comma; Noemi Maldonado&comma; of Brooklyn&comma; New York and Juan Ramos of Brooklyn&comma; New York allegedly&comma; arranged for heroin and cocaine to be transported from New York City to the Capitol Region&comma;
