A Pennsylvania man is lucky to be alive after police say he survived being shot in the chest and head on two consecutive days by the same assailant.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Robert Sheets, of Quarryville, has been charged with two counts of attempted homicide in connection to the double shooting. A warrant is out for his arrest.<br />
According to an affidavit, the victim, who has not been named, went with the 29-year-old Sheets to a home near Conestoga late Monday night.<br />
He says Sheets took him into the woods under the guise of showing him something and attacked him, grabbing him &#8216;as if to break his neck,&#8217; stated the criminal complaint obtained by <a class="" href="http://lancasteronline.com/news/local/man-survives-after-gunman-shoots-him-in-chest-monday-then/article_47d0375e-8359-11e7-9bdd-5f5e9ae8b472.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Lancaster Online.</a><br />
The man tried to put up a fight, prompting Sheets to pull out a handgun and shoot him in the chest, according to the affidavit.<br />
The injured man says he awoke hours later between two rocks and yelled for help, prompting an angry Sheets to return, upset the victim was not dead.<br />
Sheets then shot the man behind the right ear and struck him with a sharp object before the man passed out again, according to the criminal complaint.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">The man told police that when he awoke again he walked away from the residence and into a cornfield where, disoriented, he believed he walked in circles before he was discovered around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of Oak Road in Manor Township Wednesday night and taken to Lancaster General Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition Thursday, suffering from injuries to his lungs and mandible.<br />
Bullet fragments are still lodged in the victim&#8217;s spine and his jaw, police say.<br />
The man told police from his hospital bed that Sheets stole his wallet containing about $400 and his cellphone after the first shooting.<br />
This was not Sheets&#8217; first run-in with the law.<br />
In July 2016, he was charged with criminal trespass and possession of the controlled substance stemming from an incident in which he was found sleeping inside the home of a woman who did not know him.</p>
