A Montana man and woman are accused of stabbing two people to death and trying to destroy their bodies by putting them in tubs with chemicals.
Tiffanie Pierce’s roommate told police he was awakened by a woman’s screams on Aug. 17 and found Pierce and Augustus Standingrock in the bathroom washing blood off their bodies. Pierce would tell him there was a dead woman in the basement of the Missoula home, according to authorities.
The roommate left but said Pierce showed up at his work and admitted she “killed a couple people last night,” according to court records.
The pair did not enter pleas on Monday in a Missoula County courtroom as bail was set at $2 million.
“There’s no combination of [release conditions] that would ensure that members of our community would be safe,” Missoula County Attorney Kirsten Pabst told Justice of the Peace Marie Andersen.
Pierce allegedly told her roommate that Standingrock brought two people over and that he took them to the basement and attacked one. Pierce attacked the other victim, who had tried to get away, according to the roommate.

Police searched the home that afternoon and found human remains in the basement.
The Missoula Police Department were investigating a homicide at a home in the 1900 block of Strand Avenue in Missoula after a reported home invasion on Sunday, July 23.
Standingrock and Pierce were inside and were arrested. Investigators have not yet been able to identify the victims, although court documents indicate they are a man and a woman.
During the search of the home, police found the bodies in plastic tubs filled with chemicals, and found knives and an ax covered in blood and human tissue in the home.
Standingrock and Pierce also are charged with accountability for deliberate homicide.
The suspects tried to destroy the bodies by putting them in tubs with chemicals that prosecutors say were purchased by Pierce.

The victims’ names have not been released. Pierce, 23, and the 26-year-old Standingrock are charged with deliberate homicide and accountability to deliberate homicide.
“Yeah, I guess I understand my rights. Yeah, that’s cool,” Pierce said during the court appearance, according to the Missoulian.
Ironically the suspects heinous acts was revealed in the course of police investigating Pierce for her alleged involvement in a home invasion and stabbing that took place in late July. The victim in that case said a woman [Pierce], asked her several times, “Where’s the money, where’s the drugs?”
According to a search warrant application, in the early hours of July 23, officers were dispatched to a call for an apparent attempted deliberate homicide in a Missoula home.
A male and a female, later identified by police as Standing-Rock and Pierce, entered the residence during the night. Pierce allegedly stabbed a woman sleeping there multiple times in the face, neck, abdomen and thigh with a knife.
The victim survived, but later told police that “it seemed like they were surprised to see me” and that Pierce allegedly asked several times “where’s the money, where’s the drugs?” before stealing phones and a small amount of cash.
Video surveillance from a nearby auto shop, cellular data, witness corroboration and computer analysis by detectives allowed the Missoula police to identify Pierce as a suspect. The police then executed a search warrant at Strand Avenue on Thursday, Aug. 17, when they found evidence of “other” crimes, including homicide.
Standingrock was on conditional release at the time of the search, for the suspended portion of felony sentences for assault with a weapon and criminal endangerment.
