<p>The mother of a kindergarten student has been arrested for dropping 29 bags of fentanyl outside of a school in suburban Philadelphia while picking up her son, police say.<br />
Dollinda Williams, 29, turned herself in on Tuesday, accompanied by her lawyer. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance, use/possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering welfare of children.<br />
Parents waiting in line to pick up their children at St. Bernadette of Lourdes school in Drexel Hill on Thursday noticed a sandwich bag in the parking lot, authorities said.<br />
A parent recognized that the bag possibly contained drugs and it was given to the principal who contacted police.</p>

<p>Within the bag, cops found 41 smaller bags — 29 of which contained fentanyl, a substance that is 50 to 100 times more powerful than heroin, according to Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood. The other 12 bags were empty, but contained fentanyl residue.<br />
Williams became a suspect after returning to the school later that day.<br />
“We were able to determine that one of the parents came back to the school and was in the parking lot looking along the ground,” Chitwood said.<br />
“After she left the school, she realized she dropped the drugs,” he said. “She had gone back to the school at one point, and when she was confronted by school officials, she said she was looking for money.”</p>

<p>After Williams was confronted by school officials and she told them that she had lost her wallet, police determined that Williams was a suspect and on Friday, she was stopped and admitted that the bags belonged to her, Chitwood said.<br />
She was arraigned on Tuesday and released on bail. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Sept. 26.<br />
Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid 50 to 100 times stronger than morphine, that has led to a <a href="http://www.philly.com/philly/health/addiction/In-Philly-fentanyl-implicated-in-as-many-lethal-ODs-as-heroin.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">growing number</a> of deadly overdoses in the Philadelphia region, authorities said,</p>
