Anthony Weiner got 21 months of hard time. The disgraced pol, crying and grabbing tissue after tissue, was sentenced Monday by Judge Denise Cote for sending sick messages to a minor girl.
The fate of the disgraced ex-congressman was sealed after he admitted to convincing a high school student to undress and touch herself via Skype in 2016. The victim was 15-at the time.
As Cote read the terms of his sentence,  including three years of supervised release, a $10,000 fine and Nov. 6 surrender date, Weiner bowed his head and sobbed, holding a hand over his eyes.
“I was a very sick man for a very long time,” Weiner said before sentencing.

“I was the adult…if I had done the right thing I would not be standing before you today.”
He wore a navy suit and pale green tie – and still sported his wedding band, though he is in the midst of a divorce from Huma Abedin, a top aide to Hillary Clinton. Abedin did not appear in court.
Prosecutors said 53-year-old Weiner, a former congressman from Brooklyn, began a two-month sexting session with the North Carolina teen shortly after she messaged him on Twitter in January 2016.

“This was a serious crime, and it’s a serious crime that deserves serious punishment,” Cote said. Weiner deserves 2 years for video sexting with minor: prosecutors
“There’s a uniform opinion by those who have examined him that he is an addict. He has a disease that (includes) sexual compulsivity. Some call it a sex addiction.
“Steps are being taken…to limit his access to social media,” the judge added.

The former outspoken and ambitious politician a one time mayoral candidate in New York sought probation. Ultimately the court did not heed the defense prayer as he was  sentenced to prison with hard labor following his felony sex crime conviction.
Weiner’s lawyers have argued he is sick and needs therapy, not incarceration.
“I victimized a young person who deserved better,” Weiner said in court. “I am not asking that I be trusted…I ask you for the opportunity on probation to keep my sworn oath.”
Prosecutors had asked for two years behind bars.
“The defendant sat in his Manhattan apartment, got online and asked a real 15-year-old girl (to perform sexual acts),” prosecutor Amanda Kramer said.
“There are no circumstances which that is acceptable.”
A tearful Weiner pled guilty on May 19 to transmitting obscene material to a minor, telling the judge, “I have a sickness, but I do not have an excuse.”
That same day, Abedin filed for divorce.
“This man is going to be the death of me,” Abedin said, according to Clinton.

Sydney Leathers 11.pngWeiner career was ireversibly damaged in 2013 when he was snagged in an online sexting scandal with a woman named Sydney Leathers using, the alias “Carlos Danger”.  His sexting partner made the most of the infamy from that incident

In this lowest of chapters in Weiner’s sexting obsession he entered online correspondence on the evening of Jan. 23, 2016, with a high school student who messaged him on Twitter. He hit her with a flurry of “provocative” responses even after he knew she was a teen still in high school.
Court documents showed that Weiner took part in three video chat sessions via Skype during which the girl “made clear that she was not just a minor, in fact, only 15 years old,” prosecutors said. The habitual sexter was undeterred, instead “as January turned to February, their intermittent exchanges grew more lascivious.”
Operating under the alias “T-Dog” Weiner, “During the latter two Skype sessions, on February 18 and 23, 2016, and in a Shapchat communication on March 9, used graphic and obscene language to ask the minor Victim to display her naked body and touch herself, which she did,” prosecutors said the trial.
Weiner also sent the girl “obscene material” on self-destructing messaging apps like Kik and Confide, including adult porn and a message “describing what he would do to her, if she were 18,” according to court filings.
Eight months later, the wheels fell off for the incorrigible sexting fiend when the girl’s story appeared in  Daily Mail. After his indictment, a tearful Weiner pled guilty to one count of sending obscene material to a minor, in May.
Huma Abedin filed for divorce on the same day he entered his guilty plea.
Abedin and Weiner have a 5-year-old son, and she kept faith with him after the first incident came to light in 2011. With the disclosure of more unbecoming selfies and texts sent to online flames, Weiner’s political career ended when he resigned from Congress, finally his marriage ended as well.
Currently the couple are finalizing their divorce, Weiner notably told the judge his son was the “one perfect thing in my life.”
“I was teaching him the wrong things…finally I am teaching him the right lessons, accepting responsibility,” Weiner said.
Weiner’s political implosion began in May 2011, when he tweeted a picture of himself in bulging underwear.

A 2013 run for mayor was to be his big shot at redemption — but then Weiner was forced to admit he’d been sexting with a woman named Sydney Leathers using the alias “Carlos Danger.” The irrepressible sexter was again snagged in August of 2016 when he sent a photo of a bulge in his underwear, with his son next to him.
Seemingly reveling in behavior Federal prosecutors described as oscillating from creepy to criminal, he sent explicit images to the North Carolina high schooler. Directing the girl he was aware was a minor child to engage in sexual conduct, “With full knowledge that he was communicating with a real 15-year-old girl, the defendant asked her to engage in sexually explicit conduct via Skype and Snapchat, where her body was on display, and where she was asked to sexually perform for him,” prosecutors wrote.
His inexplicable refusal to dial back on his sext addiction, has been variously seen as having played a key role in the outcome of the last presidential elections.
Federal investigators examining Weiner’s laptop discovered emails on the computer appearing to pertain to a separate investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state.
