who later died from her injuries&period; Now the San Antonio district attorney&&num;8217&semi;s office said the charges against Jessica Briones could be upgraded depending on Olivia&&num;8217&semi;s cause of death&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Briones is accused of causing her daughter Olivia serious bodily injury after she walked into the San Antonio police substation on Sept&period; face and arms&period;  Briones has been charged in her 4-year-old daughter&&num;8217&semi;s death after authorities are said to be disbelieving of her excuse that she of not being able to locate her cell phone which incidentally was &&num;8220&semi;low on minutes&comma;&&num;8221&semi; at the time&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Responding to the rationale behind bringing the injured child to the police substation instead of calling emergency services&comma; Briones allegedly told investigators that she couldn&&num;8217&semi;t find her cell phone and she was &&num;8220&semi;low on minutes&period;&&num;8221&semi;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The obviously traumatized 4-year-old girl was immediately taken to University Hospital&comma; where she was pronounced dead the following day&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Doctors at the hospital found that Olivia&&num;8217&semi;s injuries were severe head trauma&comma; consistent with a blow&period; According to the doctors&&num;8217&semi; report&comma; the child had brain swelling and multiple bleeding sites inside her head&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The autopsy report performed by the medical examiner&&num;8217&semi;s office also determined that the little girl had eight scars on her scalp&comma; a black eye&comma; a swollen nose&comma; a deflated lung&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The list of severe injuries also included both of her arms swollen&comma; a wrist swollen&comma;  and she had a fractured vertebrae&comma; a large abrasion on the back of her head&comma; a bruised ankle and the tissue in her upper lip was detached from her gums&period;<&sol;p><&sol;div>&NewLine;<&sol;section>&NewLine;<&sol;aside>&NewLine;<article id&equals;"ra-body">While a final determination as to the cause of death&comma; is still pending&comma; Briones allegedly&comma; told police that she didn&&num;8217&semi;t know how her daughter got such serious injuries&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Briones reportedly admitted that she slammed her daughter&&num;8217&semi;s arm in a door&comma;
