<p>Identical twin brothers, Louie and Vincent Iacono, accused of bashing in the head of a mob scion killed their victim over a drug dispute, law-enforcement sources said Thursday.<br />
the Iacono brothers whacked Carmine Carini Jr. in their Mill Basin apartment in late August following a beef over pills, according to sources.<br />
The men from Brooklyn were arrested in the <a href="https://konniemoments.com/2017/09/05/dead-man-found-in-brooklyn-waters-chained-to-cinder-block-identified-as-carmine-carini-son-of-namesake-convicted-mobster-carmine-carini/">mob-style killing of the son of a reputed mob soldier</a>, whose corpse was found dumped in Jamaica Bay with a cinderblock bound to his legs, in September.<br />
Louie and Vincent Iacono, 36, were arrested late Wednesday for killing their 35-year-old housemate Carmine Carini Jr. an ex-con whose namesake father, Carmine Carini, is an associate of the notorious Gambino crime family.<br />
Thursday Louie Iacono was charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence in connection to the killing, while his brother Vincent was charged with hindering prosecution and tampering with physical evidence.</p>

<p>Sometime on Aug. 30 or 31, Louis allegedly whacked Carini in the head with a hammer inside a home they shared on East 64th Street, Acting Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said.<br />
On Sept. 2, police found his body wrapped in a blue tarp sealed with duct tape, weighed down by cinderblock secured to his legs by an electrical cord and a bucket filled with construction materials, according to police sources.<br />

<p>After the brothers wrapped the 35-year-old son of Gambino crime-family associate Carmine Carini, in a blue tarp, bound the wrapping in duct tape, weighed it down with cinder blocks and tossed him in Jamaica Bay, prosecutors said. The twins forgot about the tide and freaked out when Carini’s soggy corpse was discovered just days later, sources said.<br />
The alleged killers subsequently fled New York and were later arrested in Indiana, on totally different charges.</p>

<p>On Sept. 2, police found his body wrapped in a blue tarp sealed with duct tape, weighed down by cinderblock secured to his legs by an electrical cord and a bucket filled with construction materials, officials said.<br />
Surveillance footage captured the Iacono brothers carrying the materials into their apartment and later dumping the body, Gonzalez said.<br />
Carini had a fractured skull and jaw. He had been stabbed multiple times and his body was so badly decomposed that authorities could only identify it through fingerprints.</p>

<p>The twins were arrested in Indiana on Sept. 6, four days after Carini’s body was found, on unrelated charges after leading police on a high-speed chase through Henry County reports the <a href="http://www.thecouriertimes.com/news/article_0a0d27b8-3de7-577c-8665-5a00defe09c3.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Courier Times</a>.<br />
They were arrested on drug charges and charges of resisting law enforcement. The brothers were extradited back to New York on Wednesday, after it was known that they were suspects in the Brooklyn murder case,<br />
The Iacono twins, who each have a slew of prior arrests on their records,pled “not guilty” to charges of murder, evidence tampering and hindering prosecution.<br />
They were arraigned separately Thursday at Brooklyn Criminal Court and both entered a not guilty plea through their defense attorneys.<br />
Vincent, who has 22 prior arrests on his record, including a number of outstanding bench warrants mostly drug related, was held on $250,000 bail.<br />
Louie, who has six prior arrests on his record was remanded without bail. His next court date is on Feb. 9.</p>
