<p>A 19-year-old Texas woman fatally shot the man she was dating on New Year&#8217;s Eve when he tried to recover the guns she had stolen from him, according to police and news reports.<br />
Yvonne Ramirez, who was also shot, is claiming self-defense in the slaying of Joshua McKinney on a Baytown street, but Harris County Sheriff investigators did not find her story convincing and charged her with murder.<br />
Prosecutors revealed that mother-of-one, Yvonne Raquel Ramirez established a plan to rob Joshua McKinney of his guns. The two recently met and had been spending time together. After she stole the guns, she allegedly demanded $2,000 in exchange for the weapons&#8217; return. The two met off Mizell Street. That&#8217;s when things went south.</p>

<p>A witness told cops that McKinney held a gun to Ramirez&#8217;s head after the $2,000 ransom demand in exchange for the stolen weapons, <a href="http://abc13.com/2850502/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KTRK</a> reports. McKinney allegedly, also had grabbed her by the neck, according to the witness.<br />
The witness heard gunfire as she ran to call for help, according to the station.<br />
McKinney was later found dead, and Ramirez was found with a shoulder wound. She told investigators that the gun fell and fired and struck him, according to the station. She later said she had seized the weapon and fired in self-defense.<br />
Another witness said Ramirez tried to manipulate the victim&#8217;s body, and prosecutors said she also stole the dead man&#8217;s wallet.<br />
However, prosecutor JoAnne Musick countenanced the wallet theft when she <a href="http://baytownsun.com/news/article_efb4ca82-f034-11e7-bb63-df5c34fee5a7.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told the Baytown Sun</a> that &#8220;I’m not sure where KTRK may have received that.&#8221;<br />
&#8220;(Ramirez) has not made an appearance in court yet,&#8221; she told the newspaper. &#8220;As such, we are not at liberty to comment on anything that is not public.&#8221;<br />
The shooting took place at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 31. Ramirez is being on $50,000 bond and will appear in court on Wednesday.</p>
