<p>Authorities have arrested and charged a southeastern Indiana man and his cougar girlfriend in the brutal killings of the man’s mother and grandfather. Robbery may have been the motive.<br />
Officers performing a welfare check discovered the bodies of 78-year-old Walter Bryant Jr. and his 58-year-old daughter, Faith Craig the night of Jan. 19 at a house in Aurora, about 30 miles west of Cincinnati.<br />
The bodies were found after the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office was asked to check on them.<br />
Police say 28-year-old Cody W. Booth and 47-year-old Margie L. Thompson, both of Aurora, were found the next day in Kentucky in Bryant’s vehicle. They were held for murder, robbery and other related charges.<br />
Police say evidence and autopsies determined Bryant and Craig were stabbed. Blunt force trauma to his head, also showed that 78-year-old Bryant also been bludgeoned to death.<br />
The victims had been killed on Jan 17, two days before their bodies were found by Deputies performing a welfare check at the request of family members.<br />
The following day, Jan 20, both were arrested in Brant&#8217;s vehicle near London, Kentucky.<br />
Booth and Thompson were charged on Monday with two counts of murder, two counts of conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of robbery resulting in serious bodily injury and conspiracy to commit robbery.</p>

<p>Booth was arrested on an outstanding warrant for a Kentucky parole violation. He is being held in a Kentucky jail pending him extradition to Indiana.<br />
Thompson was initially questioned and released, the re-arrested on Friday. She remains in the Dearborn County Jail.<br />
Records show that Booth has been arrested nearly a dozen times since 2011, mostly on drug possession and probation violation charges. He had been a fugitive since April 2015, when he was convicted in Kentucky of felony heroin possession and was sentenced to three years, before he absconded.<br />
His girlfriend Thompson’s record includes an arrest in January 2010 for vehicular violations, including driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.<br />
Bryant was a decorated retired master sergeant in the US Army who had served in the military for 21 years, completing tours of duty in Korea and Vietnam.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Walter Bryant who lost his wife of 56 years, Betty, eight years ago shared a home with his daughter, Faith Craig who leaves behind her husband, Dan Craig, who is disabled.<br />
Her sister-in-law, Christine Craig, told the station WCPO that Faith worked as a nurse.<br />
&#8216;She really just gave everything she had to her friends and her family, the people that she loved,&#8217; said the relative, adding that their family were still trying to process what happened.<br />
The family started a <a class="" href="https://www.gofundme.com/faithmariecraig" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">GoFundMe </a>campaign, to help Faith&#8217;s widower, Dan Craig, who is unable to work towards paying for his wife&#8217;s funeral.</p>
