A 15-year-old Texas girl believed to have been abducted by a “predator” on Snapchat died just two months after she was reunited with her family.
Heaven Ray Cox of Mauriceville, Tex., died on Saturday afternoon, according to her mother Tammy Cox. No cause of death was given.
“Our sweet Heaven left us to be with Jesus this afternoon around 4:00. Some bright lights are not meant for this dark and cruel world….Sing with the angels sweet girl. I love you,” Tammy Cox wrote.
The crisis was signaled hours earlier, by her mom Tammy Cox, who asked her Facebook friends to stop and pray for her daughter, saying, “It’s an emergency!!”

Heaven Ray Cox, 15, whose disappearance sparked a widespread search, died on Saturday, according to her family

The teenager, who suffered from bipolar disorder, went missing on Nov. 25.
Heaven Cox had been talking to a “much older” man who had been manipulating the teenager “for some time,” according to Tammy Cox in a now-deleted Facebook post.
Heaven’s parents noticed she was missing on the afternoon of November 25. They thought she had slept in late but when they went to check on her there was a note saying she had gone.
At the time, police said the note indicated she might be heading to California but did not say who she was travelling with.
Her mom Tammy said she believed the Californian man had promised to pick her daughter up in San Antonio where he was staying for Thanksgiving.
The city is four and a half hours’ drive from Heaven’s home in Mauriceville, Texas.
The teenager was found safe in Louisiana and reunited with her family five days after she went missing.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said it appeared the teen ran away of her own accord, and police never confirmed whether the Snapchat “predator” was involved.
