Part of the $150,000 in cash and jewelry stolen from middleweight contender Jermall Charlo on Saturday has been recovered. Pro-boxer Charlo was in a during a club scuffle, when a group of women swiped his bag.
Police announced Tuesday that they have arrested the alleged thief, a 40-year-old woman last seen with the stolen property at JAY-Z’s nightclub in the Flatiron District, NY.
Sarah Morin, 40, of Conn. surrendered at the 13th Precinct in Gramercy after she was identified as the woman wanted for the Saturday-night theft inside the 40/40 Club on W. 25th St.
Moring was identified as the female nightclub patron seen on camera leaving with the pro-boxer’s Louis Vuitton bag filled with cash and jewelry. She has been arrested for grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, TMZ reports.
Jermall Charlo, 27, was celebrating with a group of friends on Saturday at the Barclays Center and then went to the 40/40 Club on W. 25th St. near Broadway in Manhattan with a group of friends, sources said.
The middleweight world title contender got into a fight with another man. During the fisticuffs, one of Charlo’s friends left a Louis Vuitton bag with the money and the jewelry unattended on a table.
When he returned to collect the bag, it was gone.

Morin swiped the bag, which contained about $40,000 in cash and $115,000 in jewelry – a $15,000 diamond bracelet,$75,000 championship ring, a $10,000 Cartier ring and more. Around $40,000 in cash, as well.
Cops reviewed security footage and spotted five women, dressed for a night on the town, leaving with the bag.
One of the women, a tall blonde, was identified as Morin, police sources said.
When Morin surrendered, she had the stolen jewelry on her, but not the cash, the sources said.
Club 40/40 spokesman Didier Morais said. “The bag in question was handed to one of the girls with the Charlo party by a friend of the party host and she walked out of the club with it.”

Cops charged Morin with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. Her arraignment was pending.
Charlo, who has fought unbeaten in 26 matches, held the International Boxing Federation’s light middleweight title until February 2016, when he moved up to middleweight. He is scheduled to fight Hugo Centeno Jr. on April 21 for the WBC interim middleweight championship.
