<p>The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and husband, Prince William have welcomed their third child, a boy, Kensington Palace confirmed Monday.<br />
The palace also confirmed Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Prince Harry had “been informed and are delighted with the news.” Middleton, 36, and the new prince will be released from St. Mary’s Hospital on Monday evening.<br />
The newest royal made his appearance late Sunday as the Palace announce in a statement:n “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 11:01hrs,” <a href="https://twitter.com/KensingtonRoyal/status/988387844111716353">in an official palace statement</a>.<br />
“The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”<br />
Later on in the day, beaming new dad, Prince William revealed how Princess Charlotte and Prince George are &#8216;delighted&#8217; at the arrival of their little brother.<br />
He joked that he didn&#8217;t keep world waiting for too long after she went into labour at around 6am before giving birth at 11am.<br />
Pressed by media for the name of the new baby, who is now fifth in line to the throne, Prince William said : ‘You’ll find out soon!&#8217;<br />
He also joked that he and Kate would have &#8216;Thrice worry now!&#8217;</p>

<p>The beaming parents looked delighted as they showed off their third son to the world who was born weighing 8lbs 7oz on St George&#8217;s Day.<br />
His older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, were taken to meet him in their school uniform, nearly six hours after Kate gave birth, but were not present as their parents emerged from the Lindo Wing.</p>

<p>Kensington Palace announcing the arrival said the baby was born at 11am, after Kate was taken by car before 6am to the Lindo Wing.<br />
The Duchess of Cambridge will be leaving St Mary&#8217;s Hospital this evening, the palace said, adding that George and Charlotte have returned to Kensington Palace after meeting their new brother.<br />
Prince William unbuckled George from his car outside the Lindo Wing of St Mary&#8217;s Hospital in Paddington, London, and led them to meet their new brother, who is the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh&#8217;s sixth great-grandchild.<br />
Bookmakers have reported a surge in bets on the name Arthur for the royal baby, who is fifth in line to the throne.</p>

<p>Earlier, Prince William appeared outside the hospital this afternoon, telling reporters: &#8216;I&#8217;ll be back in a minute.&#8217;<br />
William was present for the birth this morning, and both Kate and the child were &#8216;doing well&#8217;, according to a palace spokesman. Senior members of the royal family were all said to be &#8216;delighted with the news&#8217;.</p>

Fifth in the line of succession, the youngest member of the royal family remains behind sister Princess Charlotte, 3, and brother Prince George, 4. Grandfather Prince Charles, 69, is first in line, followed by William, 35.<br />
