<p>In September 2017, Bruns had been involved in another traffic related personal injury after she struck a pedestrian in Long Island City, but that crash may have escaped attention because it was not properly documented.<br />
Investigators were previously trying to determine whether her doctors had told her not to drive. If she had been told not to drive, and still got behind the wheel, that could have been enough for the grand jury to charge her.<br />
New York mayor, Bill de Blasio, had stated the same views immediately after the deadly crash:&#8221;She should never have been allowed to have been driving a car after what we know of these other violations,&#8221; de Blasio said last month.<br />
Bruns was arrested and will be arraigned at some point Thursday afternoon.</p>
