Sanofi US, makers Ambien, Wednesday refuted Roseanne Barr’s claim that the prescription drug is responsible for her hate-filled tweets.

“People of all races, religions and nationalities work at Sanofi every day to improve the lives of people around the world,” @SanofiUS tweeted Wednesday morning.

“While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication,” the drug-maker added.

Barr claimed that she was “Ambien tweeting” on Tuesday when she posted that Barack Obama’s top adviser Valerie Jarrett, who is black, is the offspring of an ape and the Muslim Brotherhood. ABC axed the rebooted sitcom “Roseanne” as a result of the racist tweet.

Since @SanofiUS defended its product at 6:57 a.m. on Wednesday, the tweet had gotten liked more then 20,000 times and retweeted more than 9,100 times.

Sitcom star Roseanne Barr’s social media meltdown appeared to take a turn for the worse as she lashed out at everyone in pen’s distance, a day after she lost her prized show on ABC.
She appeared to retract the ‘garbled apology’ of a few hours earlier, swinging from blaming drug induced discombobulation to attacking the network for not sticking with her, before blasting her two co-stars for speaking out against her and is backing supporters who blame a liberal witch-hunt for her show’s cancellation.

In a return to Twitter, hours after claiming she was quitting the social media platform for good when her eponymous hit show was cancelled, Barr flipped from apologizing for her ‘bad joke’ about Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett to railing against her critics.

Barr thundered after Michael Fishman, who played D.J. Conner on the show.
Fishman who started working with Barr when he was just six, earlier released a statement criticizing Barr’s racist tweet saying Jarrett looks like the lovechild of the ‘Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes’.

‘I condemn these statements vehemently,’ wrote Fishman, who is the father of a black daughter in the reboot.
‘They are reprehensible and intolerable, contradicting my beliefs and outlook on life and society. I have always lived and taught my children to be inclusive. I believe our show strived to embrace different backgrounds and opinions, through open dialogue.’

But Fishman was not the only original cast member to take a stand, with Sara Gilbert, who played Roseanne’s daughter Darlene, also releasing a statement that very much echoed the one released shortly after by ABC cancelling the show.
‘Roseanne’s recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show. I am disappointed in her actions to say the least,’ wrote Gilbert, who was a producer on the reboot and largely responsible for reuniting the cast.Sarah Gilbert tweets 1.jpg

‘This is incredibly sad and difficult for all of us, as we’ve created a show that we believe in, are proud of, and that audiences love— one that is separate and apart from the opinions and words of one cast member.’
‘Wow! unreal,’ wrote Barr, who had confessed in earlier interviews to the difficult job Gilbert had of trying to rein in her impulse to tweet offensive comments.
However, she later followed up, tweeting: ‘No, I understand her position and why she said what she said. i forgive her. It just shocked me a bit, but I indeed f***ed up.’
She reiterated this soon after when a follower criticized Gilbert, saying: ‘She’s distancing herself from me and my tweet-she has to.’
