<p class="imageCaption">A North Carolina pizza maker has been arrested after he allegedly put rat poison in the cheese to try and hurt customers. Ricky Lee Adami has been charged with distributing food containing noxious/deleterious material.<br />
The 59-year-old ex-convict turned pizza maker was caught on surveillance footage placing what it believed to be rat poison in the shredded cheese machine at Primo Pizza in Fayetteville on June 1.<br />
His intentions authorities said was to try and hurt customers. Gurol Bicer, Primo Pizza&#8217;s manager, had been preparing pizza when he noticed an unknown substance in the cheese.<br />
&#8216;I brought the bucket of cheese from the batch that [Adami] cut,&#8217; Bicer told <a class="class" href="http://www.cbs17.com/news/local-news/cumberland-county-news/fayetteville-man-arrested-for-mixing-rat-poison-into-cheese-at-pizza-shop-police-say/1222890401" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">WNCN</a>. &#8216;I fluffed it up like I normally do.&#8217;<br />
That&#8217;s when Bicer spotted brown pellets in the cheese. He then found pellets in three out of the five tubs of cheese in the restaurant.</p>

When he saw Adami putting something inside the cheese, he immediately called the police.<br />
&#8216;Everything he touched, I threw away,&#8217; Bicer said.<br />
&#8216;All the containers, the parts of the machine, the cheese &#8211; of course.&#8217;</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Bicer not only spotted brown pellets in the one tub of cheese. He then found pellets in three out of the five tubs of cheese in the restaurant.<br />
Bicer said Adami had worked with Primo Pizza for about a year and had never caused trouble before. He believes Adami may have decided to do something to the cheese after getting into an argument with the owner earlier that day.<span class="wai"><br />
</span>Adami is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $100,000 secured bond.<br />
Records show that Adami&#8217;s list of priors includes convictions for multiple DUIs, larceny, breaking and entering, and burning a public building.<br />
