Authorities in Atlanta arrested officer Iris Rowe Monday during a drug bust at a College Park apartment on Godby Road.<br />
Rowe [left], resigned from the Atlanta Police Department on Wednesday following her arrest at an apartment complex where police discovered 7 pounds of marijuana.<br />
Authorities also discovered prescription pills, guns, ammunition, and $8,000 inside the apartment during the raid on Monday.<br />
Iris Rowe resigned after she was notified that Chief Erika Shields would terminate her on Thursday. In response, she turned in a letter of resignation, police sources said.<br />
Additional drugs and two guns &#8211; including an AR-15 &#8211; were also found in Rowe&#8217;s car.<br />
Rowe was carrying the gun that had been issued to her by the department at the time of the arrest.<br />
Her uniform, badge, vest, and ID were also found inside the apartment, according to <a class="class" href="https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/officer-arrested-in-drug-raid-resigns-from-atlanta-police-department/769224440" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">WSBTV</a>.<br />
Rowe was immediately suspended following her arrest and was notified that she would be dismissed at an emergency hearing on Thursday, the Atlanta Police Department said in a statement.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Authorities had been collecting surveillance at the apartment and had no idea Rowe was an officer before the raid, College Park Police Chief Keith Meadows told <a class="class" href="https://www.11alive.com/article/news/local/apd-officer-arrested-in-college-park-drug-bust-resigns-ahead-of-termination/85-564175468" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">11Alive</a>.<br />
Officers had expected to find suspects Jeremy Laye and Tony Robinson, who were also arrested on Monday, at the apartment.<br />
Laye&#8217;s children were also inside the home during the bust.<br />
Meadows said Rowe was in a relationship with one of the men but did not specify which.<br />
Both men face multiple drug charges.<br />
Laye has also been charged with obstruction of an officer and possession of a firearm by a first offender probationer.</p>
