<p class="css-1i0edl6 e2kc3sl0">A jury in Brooklyn, NY, Wenesday reached a verdict for the final two men accused in the fatal shooting of Carey Gabay, a former aide to Governor Andrew Cuomo, after their co-defendant was <a href="http://abc7ny.com/suspect-not-guilty-jury-deadlocked-on-2-in-cuomo-aides-death/3811334/">found not guilty of all charges Monday</a>.<br />
On Monday one defendant Keith Luncheon, was acquitted of second-degree murder, manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment on Monday, but jurors had been deadlocked on the charges against Stanley Elianor and Micah Alleyne.<br />

His co-defendant, Stanley Elianor, 27, was only found guilty of reckless endangerment. He was found not guilty of murder, manslaughter and three counts of weapons possession.<br />
After the verdicts were read, one of the victim&#8217;s relatives, believed to be the victim&#8217;s brother, stood up and ran from the courtroom after shouting: &#8220;My brother was murdered! Where is the justice? You should be ashamed of yourselves, all of you!&#8221;<br />
The alleged shooter, Kenny Bazile, was convicted of second-degree manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon last week, but he was acquitted on murder charges.<br />
A fifth defendant, Tyshawn Crawford, <a href="http://abc7ny.com/trial-begins-for-4-men-accused-in-shooting-of-cuomo-aide/3408622/">agreed to a plea deal</a> and testified against the other four.<br />
Prosecutors say the men began shooting at rival gang members during the J&#8217;Ouvert Festival celebration in Brooklyn in 2015.<br />
Caught in the crossfire, Gabay [right], was hit in the head by a stray bullet. He died in the hospital nine days later.<br />
In court Monday, prosecutors said there were seven different semi-automatic weapons used in the rival gang shootout in September 2015 during the pre-dawn hours of J&#8217;ouvert when Gabay was killed.</p>

<p class="css-1i0edl6 e2kc3sl0">At the commencement of the trial, Bazile&#8217;s attorney had successfully distanced his client from the rest of defendants, admitting he had a gun and fired it but claiming he believed he was being shot at and was acting in self-defense.<br />
&#8220;Carey was an inspiring public servant whose life was cut short by senseless gun violence,&#8221; Cuomo said after Brazile&#8217;s conviction. &#8220;I commend the men and women of law enforcement for their relentless pursuit of justice and thank the prosecutors for their work in honoring Carey&#8217;s legacy&#8230;.Nothing can bring Carey back to his wife Trenelle, his family and all those who loved him, but I hope this guilty verdict gives them some comfort that justice has been served. Carey will be forever missed.&#8221;<br />
Bazile now faces up to 15 years in prison but could have been sentenced to life in prison if he was found guilty of murder.<br />
Brooklyn native Keith Luncheon who was recorded on video carrying a gun shortly after an aide to Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo was fatally shot at a Caribbean festival in 2015 was acquitted of murder and weapons charges on Monday.<br />
After the verdict was read aloud in State Supreme Court in Brooklyn, the man, Keith Luncheon, 26, seemed relieved and smiled as his lawyer shook his hand.<br />
The jury said it was “hopelessly deadlocked” on charges against two ofof the accused n men, Micah Alleyne and Stanley Elianor, Justice Vincent del Giudice ordered them to continue deliberating.<br />
Mr. Luncheon was charged with second-degree murder, second-degree manslaughter, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. He identified as a violent gang member on social media and confessed to being present when the shooting started in a videotaped statement, but his lawyer, Jay Cohen, maintained at trial that his admission had been coerced. And he said a co-defendant who testified against his client was a liar.</p>

<p class="css-1i0edl6 e2kc3sl0">Last week, a separate jury found Kenny Bazile, 33, guilty of second-degree manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. He maintained at trial that he acted in self-defense. A fifth man, Tyshawn Crawford, accepted a plea deal and testified against the others at trial.<br />
The defendants, who are suspected of being gang members, were arrested and charged in the death of Carey W. Gabay, a lawyer with the Cuomo administration, who was shot in the head during the annual predawn street festival of J’ouvert, on Sept. 7, 2015, in Brooklyn. Prosecutors said the gunfight stemmed from a rivalry between the Folk Nation and 8-Trey Crips gangs.<br />
Mr. Luncheon’s verdict drew a slight smile from his mother, Cheryl, 55, who was seated in the gallery of the courtroom.<br />
On the other side, Mr. Gabay’s relatives scoffed and sighed as the forewoman announced the jury’s decision. His widow, Trenelle, left the courtroom, declining to discuss the outcome with reporters.</p>
