Convicted armed robber, had tape placed over his mouth in Cleveland on Tuesday after ignoring multiple warnings from a judge to stop interrupting
Judge ordered Franklyn Williams’ mouth taped shut during sentencing because of his non-stop interjections at Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday.
The defendant was charged and convicted for three armed robberies
Robbery defendant Williams, 32 ,would not stop talking over the judge or his own attorneys, forcing Judge Russo to order officers to place red duct tape over the his mouth
Convicted last year on counts of aggravated robbery, kidnapping, theft, misuse of credit cards, the defendant was sentenced to 14 years
He appealed and won a retrial,only to cut his ankle bracelet and flee – but after his recapture he feigned memory loss, which was dismissed by the court
Williams was ultimately sentenced to 24 years jail

An armed robber had two pieces of red tape placed over his mouth during his sentencing on Tuesday.
Cleveland man Franklyn Williams, 32, was convicted of three armed robberies during his trial, but clearly still had more to say on the matter as Judge John Russo tried to speak, video from FOX8 shows.
Williams spoke over the judge and his own attorneys despite over a dozen warnings to be quiet, forcing Judge Russo to order tape be placed over his mouth so the sentencing could proceed.
Over the course of 30 minutes Williams persistently interrupted Judge and would not stop talking, despite more the multiple warnings from Judge Russo. Williams even interrupted his own attorneys.
Russo resolved the disruptions to the proceedings by ordering deputies to tape the defendant’s mouth shut.
Six deputies stood around Williams as one applied the red tape, but he continued to speak. The judge instructed deputies to put another piece of tape over his mouth in order for proceedings to continue.
