<p>Knoblach, 60, has denied the allegations, calling them “indescribably hurtful” before stating he was quitting so he could repair his family, reported <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/minnesota-rep-jim-knoblach-ends-campaign-amid-daughter-s-allegations-n912201" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NBC News</a>.</p>

<p>University of Colorado Boulder alum Laura Knoblach, 23, told Minnesota Public Radio that her father inappropriately touched her from the ages of 9 to 21. She alleged her dad would kiss her, as well as lick and bite her ears. She also claimed to have confided in family, friends and church authority figures about his actions for more than a decade.<br />
The daughter also told MPR that she remembers her father entering her bedroom and falling sleep. She recalls him climbing in and laying down behind her. He also allegedly repeatedly pinned her against the dishwasher or refrigerator and then use his strength and size to prevent her from fleeing.</p>

<p>The sheriff’s office of Sherburne County began probing the case in 2017 but never filed charges against Knoblach, the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.<br />
Shortly after her story was published, Laura <a href="https://www.facebook.com/laura.knoblach/posts/10212076284518745">posted the link on her personal Facebook</a> with the caption, &#8220;My heart has never felt this heavy, but my shoulders have never been so light.&#8221; matters.<br />
In his statement, Jim Knoblach said he wasn&#8217;t willing to spend six weeks fighting with his daughter in the media.<br />
&#8220;Our daughter has been estranged from our family for some time,&#8221; he said. &#8220;In late 2016 she made some extremely hurtful and untrue accusations on a Facebook post, which was briefly put up and then taken down. These accusations were fully investigated by Sherburne County, dismissed, and the case closed in April 2017.&#8221;</p>
