She was ordered released without bail when she was arraigned in Bronx Criminal Court Wednesday night.<br />
Monge who joined the District Attorney’s office in 2017 and was working as a trial preparation assistant.<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">Her case has been referred for a special prosecutor to avoid a conflict of interest if the Bronx District Attorney handled the case.<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">She was placed on administrative leave after her arrest, the a spokeswoman for the DA&#8217;s office said.<br />

<p class="mol-para-with-font">‘It hurts because I never raised her that way,’ Melvin Monge, from Long Island, told the outlet. ‘I gave her a good education here, and I break my back working her, and she chooses to do this? I don’t feel sorry for her.<br />
<span style="color: var(--color-text);">‘She’s destroying her own life,’ Melvin continued. ‘I’m embarrassed because it’s my last name.’<br />
</span>Melvin said he last saw his daughter on Father’s day, and that she had recently applied to become a Pennsylvania state trooper – an application certain to be rejected now.<br />
‘No way now,’ the disgruntled father said of his daughter’s chances at the job.</p>
