<p class="mol-para-with-font">He was convicted of murder on Wednesday and is yet to be sentenced but will likely now spend the rest of his life incarcerated.<br />
Assistant Attorney General Bud Ellis told jurors in his closing argument that Flick knew Dobbie was going to be leaving town and thought to himself, &#8216;If I can&#8217;t have her, I will kill her.&#8217;<br />
<span style="color: var(--color-text);">In the days before the murder, he trailed her and her children around the town where they were living, to Dunkin&#8217; Donuts, a local library and to the bus shelter.<br />
</span>Among those who testified were friends of the woman who said that she tolerated his affection but did not want it.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Her 11-year-old twin sons witnessed the savage attack and it was also caught on surveillance cameras.<br />
The police report said that two days before the killing, the suspect bought a pair of knives from a Walmart. He then waited, on the day of the murder, until the sidewalk was clear of pedestrians to attack Dobbie.<br />
She was sitting on a step outside a building, talking on her cellphone when he struck.<br />
Prosecutors described how he was seen walking up to her, reaching into the small of his back and retrieving the knife then plunging it into her body without warning as her children watched.<br />
The attack only stopped after a witness intervened. He later testified that he &#8216;drop kicked&#8217; Flick and kept his foot on his neck until police arrived.<br />
Dobbie&#8217;s injuries were severe. She was stabbed so many times that it pierced her heart and her lung.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Allan Lobozzo, his defense attorney, said there had been no indication his client posed a threat. Flick himself never offered an explanation for the killing.<br />
He submitted a not guilty by way of insanity plea before the trial began but withdrew it.<br />
The jury from his most recent trial were not told about his previous crimes but they took only 40 minutes to find him guilty.<br />
The elderly suspect who is allegedly hard of hearing listened through headphones to the verdict. He said nothing throughout the trial.<br />

Elsie said of the second killing that the judge who released him from prison should be forced to explain to the woman&#8217;s sons why she is no longer alive.<br />
In an interview with <a class="class" href="https://www.wmtw.com/article/accused-lewiston-murder-suspect-had-stabbed-wife-to-death-in-1979-documents-say/22209884" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">WMTW</a>, she said: &#8216;The boys [Doobie&#8217;s sons]are the ones that are going to live with it. I think the judge should explain to them, tell them, tell them how come they had to watch their mother be slaughtered on the street&#8217; .</p>
