Four Jersey City police officers who were caught on camera in 2017 savagely attacking an innocent man engulfed in flames after a fiery crash will not spend a day in jail. However all four have been relieved of their job as law enforcement officers and will never work in law enforcement again, in the state of New Jersey.
Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez made the announcement on Tuesday.
The officers were involved in a high-speed chase in June 4, 2017, when three officers fired shots at the fleeing suspect Leo Pinkston.

Officers Eric Kosinski and Francisco Rodriguez each pled guilty to a single count of endangering another person and will go through a pre-trial intervention, along with Ludwig who did not enter a plea.
The chase started when Jersey City police pursued Pinkston through the streets of Jersey City. It ended when Pinkston crashed his vehicle along Route 1 &; 9, and slammed into Feliz-Rodriguez’s sedan, which then burst into flames, with Miguel trapped in the driver’s seat.
‘I couldn’t get out,’ Feliz-Rodriguez told WPIX after his release from the hospital. ‘My seatbelt didn’t want to come off. I was already on fire.’
The officers also fired shots at the suspect Pinkston as he ran away.
Feliz-Rodriguez is seen on video crawling away from the burning wreck and rolling on the ground in an attempt to put out the flames burning his clothes.
‘Finally, I see the cops. And I’m thinking – the guy’s gonna help. I’m on fire,’ Feliz-Rodriguez said. ‘And I just see them with the guns drawn, and I hear the in the voice – they were so like, mad.’
Instead of helping the victim, the officers kicked and dragged him to the curb.

Feliz-Rodriguez ended up in a full-body cast and spent more than a month in the hospital recovering from burns to 30 per cent of his body, as well as four broken ribs suffered during the beating.
Pinkston later pled guilty to eluding police and aggravated assault. In March 2018, he was sentenced to five years in prison.
Suarez, the prosecutor, characterized the outcome of the case as ‘the most fair and just resolution,’ saying that the officers’ punishment provides accountability and takes into account input from the victim.

The complaint claims police failed to safely handle the chase and assaulted him while he was on fire. The suit doesn’t specify the amount of damages it seeks, but legal papers filed in 2017 said Felix-Rodriguez would be seeking up to $25million.
