<p class="mol-para-with-font">A man is accused of raping a woman in New York City after breaking into her home and then giving her the choice of being raped, killed or having sex with her adult son, Monday night in Queens, New York.<br />
The Queens district attorney&#8217;s office said Joshua Henderson, 33, raped and robbed the victim in her home on September 16 at about 6pm.<br />
<span style="color: var(--color-text);">The parolee who had been arrested three times on burglary and other charges after his parole in July 2018 after serving nine years of a maximum 12-year sentence for burglary.<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">He wore an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet during the brutal attack Monday — and the bracelet’s tracking device put him at the scene of the rape, prosecutors said.<br />

</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">Wearing a yellow vest while posing as a construction worker to get into the victim&#8217;s building </span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">Police said, Henderson</span> allegedly knocked on the woman&#8217;s door and engaged her in conversation when she answered. She was able to cut the talk short and shut the door on him.<br />
A few minutes later, Henderson allegedly gained entrance to the woman&#8217;s home via an unlocked fire escape window and managed to convince her that he had a gun.<br />
That was when Henderson supposedly told the woman that she had three choices: He could rape her, he could kill her or she could have sex with her 25-year-old son, who was home at the time of the incident. The woman also has a teenage, special needs son, but he was not home at the time.<br />
Henderson then allegedly used wire and an extension cord to tie up the woman&#8217;s son in another room, before proceeding to rape the homeowner.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">On his way out of the home, Henderson allegedly stole jewelry, money and other valuables.<br />
Henderson was arrested on September 18 while he was checking in at IC Bail Bonds, in Brooklyn, New York, where he had previously had his bail secured, <a class="class" href="https://pix11.com/2019/09/20/queens-woman-raped-by-man-on-parole-police/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">PIX 11</a> reports.<br />
Prosecutors said Thursday that Henderson was charged with rape, robbery and other charges. He was said to have been pictured in surveillance video footage and that the woman picked him out of a photo array and lineup.<br />
He was held without bail following his arraignment Thursday night.<br />

<p>Somehow Henderson reportedly, has managed to fall through the cracks of our criminal justice system.<br />
“This is not an isolated incident,” said NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea. “We see this far too often. It’s troubling for the safety of all New Yorkers.<br />
His criminal history is said to date back 17 years, to when he was 16 years old.<br />
Markers of his criminal past, include having to plead guilty to a string of burglaries in 2009, which resulted in his being sentenced to 12 years in prison. Paroled in 2018, after serving nine years, Henderson is under parole supervision until 2023.<br />
However, in the one year he&#8217;s been out on parole, Henderson was arrested on five suspected burglaries and released on bail each time, all without having had his parole violated supposedly because an an administrative law judge prevented the revoking of his parole, police said. <span style="color: var(--color-text);"> </span></p>

<p>And, while out on bail, he was also arrested on grand larceny charges for allegedly using credit cards taken during a previous burglary &#8211; which he was given bail for and, once again, did not have his parole violated.<br />
“That individual gets arrested another time in Brooklyn after that… and this woman is scarred for life,” Shea said.<br />
His wife, Joanna Henderson, 37, insists that her husband &#8216;didn&#8217;t do anything&#8217; and that he has three children.<br />
&#8216;He’s a loving, caring man. He’d give you his last,&#8217; she said.<br />
&#8216;The DNA is going to prove he didn’t do this. I’m telling you the DNA is going to prove he didn’t do anything,&#8217; she claims.<br />
Henderson was said to have been on parole at the time of the alleged rape and wearing an ankle monitor, which put him at the scene of the assault.<br />
Police reportedly are investigating whether that Henderson is a possible suspect in several open rape and unsolved burglary cases.<br />
In the latest incident the victim was home in Ozone Park with her son, when police say Henderson — posing as a construction worker — tries to get into her apartment. When that didn’t work, he apparently used a fire escape to get in through a window.<br />
While inside, Henderson allegedly tied up the victim and her son before violating her Monday night. By Wednesday, police arrested the 33-year-old at IC Bail Bonds, who secured his bail from before.<br />
“We don’t want career criminals that have a propensity for violence that over and over have been given chances and hurt New Yorkers being released before detectives have done the paperwork,” said Shea. “Let’s have those hard conversations.”</p>
