A Los Angeles neighborhood was evacuated last night after a homeowner also found man and a dog shot to death inside the home in a gated community. The homeowner also discovered a dead woman in a pool of blood inside his house along with a message scrawled on the wall indicating there was a bomb somewhere inside the residence, authorities said.
The bodies of a man, woman and dog were found in a Simi Valley home Thursday night after police responded to a welfare check and found a bomb threat written on a wall of the residence.
The bomb squad and SWAT team swooped into the 500 block of Fairfield Road in Simi Valley on Thursday night where 47 residents were evacuated.
Officers reported a staggeringly brutal scene inside the home where they soon discovered a bomb threat while examining the woman in a pool of blood on the ground floor of the property.
A dead man was discovered elsewhere in the home with gunshot wounds as well as a dead dog that had also been shot to death, NBC reported.

 

Officials said the home was in a gated community in Simi Valley, located in Ventura County, Fox 11 Los Angeles reported. The woman, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Paramedics spotted a message written on the wall of the home indicating that there was a bomb inside, Simi Valley Police Commander Steve Shorts said.
About 47 neighbors in nearby houses were ordered to evacuate at around 7 p.m. The bomb squad was called, Fox 11 reported.


Other residents in the community were ordered to take shelter inside.
The welfare check was called in by a resident of the home. He is alive and accounted for, but the relationship between him and the two dead individuals is unknown.
Ultimately, authorities determined there was no explosive device. Instead, during their search they found another body, of a man, as well as a dead dog, police said.
It was not immediately known how either individual or the dog died, but a
uthorities said there was a great deal of blood at the scene.

 

‘Pretty involved in terms of there is a lot of blood at the scene, but we don’t have any further information beyond that,’ police commander Steve Shorts told ABC.
The emergency services were called by the third resident of the home at around 7pm.
He is alive, although it was not revealed what his relationship to the other two dead residents was.
Officers were seen deploying a drone and robot to ascertain whether there was indeed a bomb in the house last night.

Late Thursday night residents were allowed back into their homes after investigators were satisfied that there was no bomb and tactical teams pulled out, but the investigation is expected to continue until midday Friday.
It is not yet known who wrote the bomb threat.
