</span>Law enforcement officers shortly before had surrounded a building near a California high school after they tracked down a young male student who opened fire at the school and fled with police in pursuit.<br />
Gunfire erupted inside a California high school Thursday morning, leaving at least seven people injured.<br />
A shooter is believed to be 15-year-old male dressed in all black, who opened fire in a classroom and fled. The shooting left one female student and four male students with gunshot wounds.<br />

The victims have been treated in hospital with one male student and the female student listed as critical. The other two male victims are listed as stable.<br />
The shooting was reported st 7.45am Pacific Time at Saugus High School on Centurion Way in Santa Clarita.<br />
The Los Angeles County Fire Department said at least six victims were transported from the scene with gunshot wounds.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">A student named Riley told KTLA5 that she was standing with friends by the library on campus when she heard four to five gunshots and started running.<br />
The high school and other schools in the surrounding area, including Rosedell and Highland elementary schools, were placed on lockdown.</p>

People are being urged to the avoid the area during the manhunt and nearby residents are being asked to shelter in place.</p>
