<div>A Utah inmate is facing charges of soliciting other inmates to kill the teenage girl he is accused of sexually assaulting.<br />
Kristoffer Jones, 29, is currently being held for sexual molestation of a child from January 2019 which involve a 13-year-old.<br />
Consequently Jones now faces two more charges &#8211; of counts of criminal solicitation for murder &#8211; following an investigation spanning several months.</div>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Washington County Sheriff&#8217;s Office say he allegedly solicited several inmates to either kill or assist in coordinating the murder of a juvenile witness and victim in the case for which he is currently incarcerated.<br />
Cops said they were made aware of the alleged murder-for-hire scheme through information gathered by deputies at the Purgatory Correctional Facility’s Corrections Intelligence Unit [CIU].<br />
In a statement the sheriff&#8217;s office said: &#8216;Detectives were able to obtain evidence to substantiate the information reported by the CIU and continued their investigation into the solicitation plot.<br />
&#8216;With the aid of an undercover officer, sufficient evidence was gathered to support the fact that Jones had taken substantial steps from inside the correctional facility, to carry out the plot to have the juvenile victim/witness killed in an effort to prevent them from testifying in the pending criminal case against him.&#8217;<br />
The suspect has been in jail since March when he was charged with four counts of rape of a child, one count of aggravated sex abuse of a child and three counts of sex abuse of a child, <a class="class" href="https://www.sltrib.com/news/2019/11/19/murder-hire-charges-utah/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Salt Lake Tribune</a> reported.<br />
Jones had taken &#8216;substantial steps from inside the correctional facility&#8217; to have the girl killed &#8216;in an effort to prevent [her] from testifying in the pending criminal case against him,&#8217; according to the news outlet.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">An inmate, who assisted police, told Jones that &#8216;he knew people on the outside that could help with something like this.&#8217;<br />
The suspect said he would pay a sum of money to the man if killed the girl which was contained in a letter &#8216;with a guarantee&#8217; on it.<br />
The probable cause document states that Jones &#8216;drew a map of the apartment complex and the specific building and apartment&#8217; where the victim lived.<br />
In addition he gave details about &#8216;what school the victim attended and [her] parents’ work schedule.&#8217;<br />
He suggested the girl could die in a drive-by shooting, by hitting her with a car, or by injecting her with insulin.</p>

<p>Jones allegedly agreed to a video call with an undercover agent posing as the hit man, the probable cause statement continued. The agent spoke to Jones from in front of the teenager’s apartment, and Jones confirmed he was at the correct address.<br />
According to the statement, the undercover agent gave Jones “one last chance to back out” and asked “if he wanted him to follow through” with the killing; Jones replied, “Yes.”<br />
And another inmate told investigators Jones passed him a note asking &#8220;if it’s possible if you know a way to get rid of someone” because “I’m facing 25 to life for rape of a child that I never committed, &; I need the b&#8212;- to disappear for good.”</p></div>
