<p class="mol-para-with-font">A Texas mother on April 7 shot to death her two young children and their grandmother just after losing custody of the children to their father as part of a divorce. She then turned the gun on herself.<br />
The children&#8217;s father Jason Dietering was the one who discovered the bodies of his estranged wife Karina Dietering, 37, along with their two kids, Robert, 3, and Clara, 5, and his 68-year-old mother-in-law Galina Tenzeyevna Taypina had been found inside their San Antonio apartment on April 27, according to police.<br />
<span style="color: var(--color-text);">Robert and Clara Dietering were recently buried the</span> lawyer for their father, Jason Dietering revealed.<br />
The Jason&#8217;s attorney Charles Hardy said his client went for an arranged meet and swap with his ex to hand over custody of the children two days earlier, after he had just <a href="https://news4sanantonio.com/news/local/records-shed-light-on-custody-battle-police-say-drove-mother-to-kill-young-children">won their custody</a>.<br />
However, when he turned up to make the exchange, Karina was a no-show.<br />
Hardy told <a class="class" href="https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2020/05/29/father-of-children-killed-in-triple-murder-suicide-had-recently-gained-custody-before-their-deaths-attorney-says/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener">KSAT</a>.<br />
&#8216;When (Karina) did a no show for the exchange, [Jason] frantically made phone calls. He waited the appropriate time and then asked for welfare checks.&#8217;<br />
&#8216;He finally got there on Sunday and again asked for a welfare check but refused to go into the apartment. Monday morning, he looked into the window and found something was amiss,&#8217; Hardy continued. &#8216;He actually broke into the apartment and found the scene.&#8217;</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Police, upon being contacted by the father, went to the home at the Sedona Ranch Apartments.<br />
Responding officers found the victims were laid out in two bedrooms, San Antonio Police Chief William McMannus said.<br />
Authorities said the mother took her own life after shooting the children and her own mom, [the children&#8217;s grandmother].<br />
Funerals were held for the children on Saturday. The mother also was buried with the children, as requested by their father, his lawyer says.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">&#8216;He said it was not about the mother,&#8217; Hardy told KSAT. &#8216;It was about the children.&#8217;<br />
Hardy explained how the parents initially split and ended up in divorce court.<br />
The children both died of gunshot wounds and their manner of death was classified as homicide by the Medical Examiner’s Office.<br />

<span style="color: var(--color-text);">According to Hardy, the family originally from Mississippi, moved after Karina Dietering convinced her husband she was moving to Texas for a job. Sher told Jason the move would be temporary.<br />
However, it turns out there was no job, instead Karina filed for divorce in Texas.<br />
There was a temporary agreement for the children to spend three weeks with their father and three weeks with their mother until a more permanent resolution was reached, Hardy said.<br />
</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">On April 24, the court ruled that Jason would be granted custody of their young children, Clara and Robert, meaning they would live with him full-time in Mississippi.<br />
Three days later the children were found dead along with their mom amd their grandmother.</span><span style="color: var(--color-text);"> </span></p>

The custody swap should have taken place in Orange, Texas. However, Karina never showed up. Instead she &#8216;killed her [own] mother, these two wonderful children and herself instead of following the court&#8217;s order.&#8217;<br />
&#8216;Terrible. I can&#8217;t even imagine. I can&#8217;t even describe it,&#8217; says Hardy, reacting to the murder-suicide found by his client.<br />
There was no previous indication the mother would harm the children, he says.</p>
