<p class="mol-para-with-font">An Idaho corrections officer has been arrested for having sexual trysts with an inmate incarcerated at a maximum security prison.<br />
Miranda Ackerman, 29, was charged with having with one felony count of sexual contact with an inmate and one misdemeanor count possessing unlawful contraband.<br />
She turned herself into police at the Ada County Sheriff&#8217;s Office last Friday after a warrant was put out for her arrest.<br />
Ackerman, who is a resident of Nampa, is accused of having sex with the male felon at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution on multiple occasions between February 9 and March 9.<br />
Ackerman was an employee at the facility at the time. She tended her resignation in early April. Prosecutors believe the sex acts occurred in an area of the jail where inmates usually get their hair cut.<br />
She is also accused of giving the prisoner explicit images of herself, which counts as &#8216;contraband&#8217;.</p>

<div>According to <a class="class" href="https://www.idahopress.com/news/local/former-idoc-officer-charged-with-having-sexual-contact-with-inmate/article_efa91dcd-33d7-56cf-bdd8-5938db9ee516.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener">The Idaho Press</a>, Ackerman went by the name of Miranda Jefferds whilst she was working at the prison.<br />
<span style="color: var(--color-text); font-size: 1rem;">The Idaho Department of Corrections began investigating Ackerman shortly after she resigned. </span><span style="color: var(--color-text); font-size: 1rem;">The Ada County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the incident in late April, after the department contacted the office.</span></div>

<p>Detectives interviewed Ackerman in April, according to Orr; they sent their report to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office, where prosecutors obtained a warrant for her arrest on Thursday.</p>
