<span style="color: var(--color-text); font-size: 1rem;">Their bodies were discovered after firefighters extinguished the fire at 5312 N. Truckee St., which was first reported by a Denver police officer at 2.40 a.m., Denver Fire Department Capt. Greg Pixley said.</span></p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Three members of the family, who had recently moved to the US from Senegal, escaped the blaze by jumping from a second floor window. They are currently in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.<br />
&#8216;Because people did die in this fire, and we have indications through some evidence that it was arson, it will be investigated as a joint investigation with the fire department as a homicide,&#8217; Denver Police Division Chief Joe Montoya said.<br />
Members of Colorado&#8217;s Senegalese community arrived at the home on Wednesday to help those in need at the scene, and were seen standing outside the house together in mourning.<br />
&#8216;He was a good person, a good worker and a good Muslim,&#8217; Diol&#8217;s brother, Abou Djibril, said to the <a class="class" href="https://www.denverpost.com/2020/08/05/denver-house-fire-five-dead-truckee-street/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener">Denver Post</a>.</p>

Another friend, Ibrahim Ndiaye, said that Diol was an engineer with Kiewit, while his wife and sister both worked at Amazon. He also said that Diol loved soccer, his family, and had celebrated Eid on Friday &#8211; a holy day for their community.<br />
