<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Mexican authorities have found the body of a Los Angeles firefighter who vanished in August. LA fire veteran fireman Francisco Aguilar, 48, was shot during a botched kidnapping, it was announced Wednesday.<br>Hiram Sánchez, Baja California central state prosecutor, at a news conference Wednesday evening revealed that there was a &#8216;full identification&#8217; of Aguilar, whose cremated skeletal remains were found in an uninhabited area on October 23.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8216;This is a tragic outcome to a case we were hoping would end differently,&#8217; he said Los Angeles Fire Chief Ralph Terrazas in a statement, expressing condolences to Aguilar&#8217;s family.<br>Aguilar, a 20-year LA firefighter and paramedic, disappeared on Aug. 20 after traveling to his condominium near Rosarito.<br>The veteran of the ;Los Angeles Fire Department, ;had been on medical leave since March and traveled to a condo he owns in San Antonio del Mar in August to check on things.  ;<br>in October two Mexican nationals, a 32-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, were arrested on a highway near Rosarito Beach, south of Tijuana.<br>Mexican authorities said when Fanny Gabriela Gómez Castellanos and Santos González Casillas were arrested, they were found to be in possession of Aguilar’s bank card, which has been used since the owner was declared missing. ;<br>Since Frank Aguilar&#8217;s disappearance, the pair had used his credit cards in Rosarito, Ensenada and Tijuana.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Fanny Gabriela Gómez Castellanos and Santos González Casillas will be charged with homicide, the prosecutor said.<br>According the investigation, a woman Aguilar knew, identified as Fanny &#8216;N,&#8217; lured him to a meeting in order to kidnap the firefighter and hold him for ransom, Sánchez said.<br>When he arrived at the meeting place, a van intercepted him and Aguilar tried to flee before a man, identified as Santos &#8216;N,&#8217; shot him, state prosecutor Sánchez said.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Gómez Castellanos prosecutors said, lured Los Angeles fireman Francisco Aguilar before she and her alleged partner[s] kidnapped him. <br>Blood found inside the vehicle they were in at the time of their arrested matched Aguilar&#8217;s DNA. <br>Sánchez said that it wasn&#8217;t clear whether they shot killed Aguilar, but he died at some point during the crime and the couple cremated his body in Playas de Rosarito. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Authorities have said the two suspects in custody had denied having any information about Aguilar´s whereabouts.<br>A third suspect was involved in the kidnap and murder scheme the prosecutor said, although he didn&#8217;t immediately provide details.<br>Furthermore detectives have found Aguilar&#8217;s Jeep, which was stolen by the couple and sold to a third person who didn&#8217;t know where the car came from, according to Sanchez.</p>
