as as part of a massive &dollar;4&period;7 million medical insurance fraud&period;&nbsp&semi;<br>To convince his patients&comma; Perwaiz&nbsp&semi; in many instances would lie that the surgeries were required surgeries to avoid cancer&period;<br>&&num;8216&semi;Dr&period; Perwaiz preyed upon his trusting patients and committed horrible crimes to feed his greed&comma;&&num;8217&semi; said George Zachary Terwilliger&comma; US attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia&period;&nbsp&semi;<br>The Chesapeake based doctor&comma; prior to the recommended gestational age that minimizes risk to the mother and baby&comma; to ensure he would be reimbursed for the deliveries&period;<br>The doctor also violated the 30-day waiting period Medicaid requires for elective sterilizations by submitting backdated forms&comma; according to authorities&period;&nbsp&semi;&nbsp&semi;<br>Defense attorney&comma; Lawrence Woodward Jr&period;&comma; described Perwaiz as a talented and hard-working man who was completely dedicated to his practice&period;<br>Perwaiz never married&comma; has no children and worked six days a week&comma; Woodward said during the trial&comma; adding that in the last year&comma; his client had received a flood of unsolicited emails from patients who described his &&num;8216&semi;fine qualities&&num;8217&semi;
